right now I have 4 15" dual voice coil subs.My amp puts out 3000 watts @1ohm.when I wired everything up I used 1 voice coil on each sub to get it to 1ohm.My question is:If I were to use both voice coils on each sub and still keep it at 1ohm would it be any louder?I am just wondering if powering both voice coils on each sub would make a difference or not.And if it would how would I wire it?The subs are dual 4ohm voice coils

youre supposed to hook both of the voicecoils on the subs. wire each pair of subs to one ohm and parallel the pairs to half an ohm and you should be close enough to one ohm with the box rise.

**** 1 VC each sub, how long you been running them like that?

also running them like that wouldnt you in essence be running 2 dual VC subs

in essence, yes you would, but keep in mind the subs wont like you very much for running them like that

I effed up my installed on two 12" Type R's sealed and did that, just hooked it up flat wrong when I was first beginning

Took me EVERY BIT of 3 days before I had smoke billowing out of my truck's windows lol

oh i know its not good, it was mostly meant for the OP, kinda defeats the purpose of 4 subs i would think

OK well thanks for the quick response.Obviously I have this all F^#ked up! so now can someone tell me what i need to do to fix it.I cant afford to buy another amp so i need to wire all this together with what i already have.

Very much agreed, it's just aggrivating when someone who even remotely knows what they're talking about can fix a problem in 2 seconds but the kid is either too ashamed or doesnt want to post lol

Either that - or he's asleep \\//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eyebrow.gif.fe2c18d8720fe8c7eaed347b21ea05a5.gif

Is the kid not reading our posts or what? lol

WHEN YOU GET THIS

WE CANT HELP YOU IF WE DONT KNOW YOUR VOICE COIL CONFIGURATION at least, and preferably your amp as well

Not trying to be rude, just trying to help, dont wanna come off as an arse here
