a good sq car sounds better than a regular system at all volumes. a really good set up has alot of detail and isnt harsh! what i think is funnier is when someone spends 400 on a deck, 800 on a sub amp and 500+ on a sub while running stock everything else. then when you listen to it the sub is so loud and muddy that you can barely tell what song is playing..then they ask you "how do you think this sounds?"...how do you answer that?

being a installer at a shop i know what you are talking about.. i allways get the " how's it sound" question... i just say better then it did.... and cringe on the inside...

but i usually adjust the amp so it dosent sound like POOOP... and mark it with a marker.. that way if they come back and said it sounds like shit.. i know they messed with it...

without a good front stage theres no sound, no matter how much power they put to their subs

no they aren't. can u tell me what makes sound sound warm and smooth?
Typically smooth spectral decay and slightly higher 2nd order distortion with low 3rd order distortion.

Could I pass ABX testing in a car at 40mph? Depends on the situation. But at least it's music.

edit: However, we do use way too many misplaced adjectives. And it starts with SQ and SPL. Those are types of competitions, not quanitifiable types of sounds. And SQL is just plain stupid.

I was reading what you were saying about "SPL & SQ" and immediately thought of SQL... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

Because of all those "SQL" B&W home audio setups, right? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

In dash DVD players. All these retards at my school had them. One kid put a dual in his mustang and I laughed at him for putting that POS in. They're cool looking but I'll stick with my 8051.
I didn't use my indash as much as I thought I would, but I sure did watch alot of **** on it while crusing, and for that it was cool //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif
