Not so much a fad, but I hated back in the day going to a soundoff and seeing nerds climb on top off the roof and 2 other nerds holding in the doors of a vehicle to hold the pressure in.

didn't go through the whole thread but those cars that are based on manufacturers, for example some dude around here has a old cutless and it says gucci all over it.
