Wire nuts?

What I was trying to connect are 3 wires so the butt connector will not work that's why I ask since I never used one.

Why would you need to splice 3 wires at any one point?

you can usaully avoid using any connection like that just by jammin the wires inside the sub's terminal but if you must, solder them all together and use heat shrink, electrical tape really shouldnt be used in cars because extreme heat and cold makes it fall off, even though i have in a bind //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/sneaky.gif.7189749b3a3f769e8815b47e8ae87f88.gif

one wire from sub/vc #1, one wire from sub/vc #2, one wire from the back of the terminal. (i think that is how he meant it)

2 subs, wired in parallel, then to the amp = 3 wires at the sub closest to the amp.

if thats what he means, i have no idea.

could be done a lot of ways. just depends on how they do it.

for instance (and this was what i meant in the other post):

in that pic, the left sub has 3 wires at the terminals.

Agreed. Wire nuts aren't really designed for vibration/movement. They will work if you can't solder. If you must use them, tape them well with REAL electrical tape (like Scotch 33+, not cheap chinese crap) and you'll likely be fine. Real tape is also a suitable substitution for heat shrink when soldering. STAY AWAY from "jap wrap" (cheapo electrical tape) if you actually want it to stay put. 33+ will outlive you, jap wrap will start to fall off in a matter of days.

you guys realize that wire nuts replaced soldering in the electrical industry right? it's just as effective (if not more so) and much more convenient.

they WILL NOT RATTLE LOOSE i don't care what you guys say. it's standard practice to wire up electric motors using wire nuts and that is an extreme vibration scenario. there is a correct way to use them as well. always tighten until there's two visual twists in the wire itself outside of the nut.

and there is no "extreme added resistance" by using them.
