amp trouble??

Okay I'm going to try to make this as clear as i can with most likely some misspellings and grammar error's.

I'm having trouble getting my sub woofer loud. its a 15'' FI Q run off of a kicker 2500.1 @ 4ohms. i have set the gains and tried a ported and sealed box on the sub. every time a big bass line comes up it hits for like a 1/2 second and then it sends the amp into protect mode for the remainder of that bass line. I have 3 deep cell batt's and a 160 amp alternator so i don't think electrical is the problem.

i have exhausted every option i know of. Do i have a brunt out amp component?? or a bad amp??

or if i have a different problem all together. Let me know wha cha think.

are you sure u have it wired at 4 ohms?? i assume its a D2 and possibly could be wired at 1 ohm. cuz it sound like an impedance prob and if it isnt i couldnt tell ya bc it sounds like u have plenty power

im pretty sure il triple check. but even if it was wired to 1 ohm that amp should handle it fine.

ive lost hope. just done checking it again. and same issue . the only other problem i see is the size of wire going to the sub being only 10 awg.

but still need help. im begging at this point

wire is big enough. You got a quality ground? can you try to hook your amp with a mp3 player and a Y wire. You have a dmm? check subs impedance with it, maybe its blown
