will these batteries be okay for me?

Just regular old battery from Walmart.
I'm not against changing it out.
I'd suggest doing so, but I know it's a somewhat arguable topic. Personally, I'm going to replace my battery under the hood with an AGM when I put one in the trunk to make sure I'm able to avoid some problems that a lot of people come upon. Others may argue that they've been mixing batteries for years and have never had a problem. I guess it depends what side of the 'safe or sorry' fence you're on. I would say it comes down to budget, but taking risks with your system to save a few bucks is never a good idea.

Any idea on what battery will fit under the hood of a 96 fire bird?

I also recommend keeping either all wet cell or all AGM batteries. They rest at MUCH different voltages, and the wet cell battery will drain the AGM down while the car is off. You *could* use an isolator, but that's a PITA for such a small benefit and could still hurt the life of your AGMs.

Well, I saw in my other thread you came upon the SuperStarts from O'reilly's. Can you check on their site if the G34 they sell will fit? If not, they probably have one that will. Or, you could give us your max dimensions and let the forum do the work for you. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Stock is 9 11/16 x 7 1/4 its a pretty tight fit. Which battery rest higher? But its going inside the car with me so I think I need.agm.
AGMs are (typically) more suited for car audio installs. Depending on how much shopping you do, they can also be a bit more spendy. However, they're well worth it in the long haul. I'd suggest AGMs, what are you looking to spend?

As little as possible. Lol. But the oreillys ones I linked said agms and that price doesn't bug me.

Those would be a great place to start. One of those would be an awesome one for under the hood and would be compatible with any AGM you decide to go with in the trunk. I contacted customer support for the dimensions on those, I can get them to you tomorrow if you want.

They're the same exact battery as my G34 under the hood in my car, I may be able to get a measurement tomorrow

Sweet thanks a lot man. You and Tenacious both. So the.oreilly batteries can't go in my trunk?

They absolutely can, if that's the route you want to go. You said you're running almost 4000w, right? You're going to want to find the best bang-for-your-buck batteries if you're looking to save some coin, I'm sure T can help you out with that. He's a great guy, I'm sure I speak for both of us when I say don't be hesitant to give us a holler if you need anything.

Yes they can. They should make a large G31 that has a higher AH rating that you could put a back there.
That's where I ran into trouble...I don't know if they do.
