These Americans being harmed that you speak of, they sound like they reside in the lowest strata of our society, and therefore are not worthy of our consideration. I say the truly American thing to do is to let them fight it out in the ghettos and trailer parks amongst themselves.
We should first create 'No benefit zones' where they will reside outside of the realm of social insurance programs. Then we must learn how to quickly identify these sub-par individuals. The Mexicans are naturally marked, and fortunately the rest can quickly be identified by their gang tattoos and/or Nascar t-shirts.

students can only work for so little.. minimum wage is still a factor.. and anything not customer related doesn't need english.. basic labor etc.. lawn care/ construction/ etc etc

SAN LEANDRO — A brand-new 37-inch Sony flat screen television for $100? Great deal — until you take it out of the box and realize you just bought an oven door.
San Leandro police Lt. Pete Ballew called it a variation on the old "rocks in a box" scam, in which a box is presented as containing new, expensive electronics for sale but is actually full of rocks.

On Wednesday San Leandro police pulled over a man who had in his car a box containing what appeared to be an expensive 37-inch flat-screen television, but in actuality was a glass oven door cleverly disguised as a TV. The man is suspected of trying to sell the item for $100 in the parking lot of the San Lorenzo Wal-Mart, 15555 Hesperian Blvd.

"It was very ingenious," Ballew said. "If you were a bargain hunter, you might think, 'Wow, this is the deal of the day.'

Police got an anonymous call Wednesday from someone who raised suspicions about a man who tried to sell him a television out of his beige 1980 Oldsmobile Cutlass in the Wal-Mart parking lot. The witness said the seller told him he had bought the TV for $60 at a flea market.

Later, Sgt. Luis Torres stopped the Cutlass after spotting it driving through San Leandro. The driver, Anthony Myles, 52, of Richmond, was arrested for driving on a suspended license. No charges were filed against Myles' passenger, a 53-year-old man.

The television in question was in the back of the car wrapped in packaging material. It had installation instructions on the back, a Best Buy price sticker for $1,949 and accompanying electric cables. Police confiscated the item, but no charges were filed in relation to its attempted sale.

"In today's economy, people are looking to save costs," Ballew said. "People will buy the story that people need to make rent and sold their TV on the cheap. But if you think you're getting something for nothing, you're probably getting nothing for something."

Ballew said to call police if you suspect someone is attempting to sell you fake merchandise.

Even if they're illegal, they still live and eat and spend money. Just like legal immigrants.

Because Mexico happens to share a very large desert border with the US

Why is that a bad thing? Well look at Mexico.

They do spend money here just like legal immigrants but they also take it out of the country and spend it elsewhere.

That coupled with the fact that the vast majority of illegal immigrants (estimated by some to be over 20,000,000) will work for under minimum wage, not pay taxes, and receive services tax dollars pay for. Means that immigration is hurting our economy.

You are being extremely short sighted in this matter OP.

You are assuming, oh juan is just eating and working, not hurting anyone, But you are ignoring the long term implications of this based on america's free market economy.

If no one would work for under minimum wage all wages would have no choice but to rise. Thus stimulating the economy by giving the general population more money in-pocket to spend or eradicate debt thus further enabling employers to raise wages further. The trick is to avoid excessive inflation in products and services to keep the value of the dollar high in comparison with other world currencies, thereby minimizing negative trade deficits while perpetuating a relatively wealthy population..

For the moment, the world is like a theme park, and the US is one of the biggest baddest coasters in it. Everyone has the chance to ride it and experience the american way of life, PROVIDED they wait in line. If everyone breaks the line and swamps the coaster, it breaks down.

No one respects the line in Asia. They get alone just fine. The toughest push their way through and the weak wait. I see nothing wrong with this. I want the toughest immigrants possible.

if greedy employers weren't exploiting their status, they wouldnt take less pay than citizens. i'm sure they would like to earn just as much as citizens.

Maybe we should legislate against this horrible exploitation.
