It was -42 actual temp here last winter.. and the coldest recorded temp in this state is -58..
How are the batteries going to perform in that sort of environment?

You probably wont nearly as much when gas is $12 a gallon.

Biodiesel FTW, diesel's get better MPG and better torque and making biodiesel or even running WVO is cheap as poo.....

Ive done lots of projects on Biodiesel and WVO for science fair and ive made biodiesel that is Government Quality (fuel standards) and its not hard at all. There are tons of people who make their own biodiesel in their garage and get the oil for free!

Not to mention it is carbon neutral, since your basically recycling the oil anyways. There are new strains of algae that can produce tons of oil (basically fatty acids) and make much more oil per acre than any crop and it will not raise food prices.

too bad WVO not scalable.. the algae shit is interesting though..

No doubt I won't like those prices. But when that time comes, there will probably be more to worry about than gas prices I would think.

I don't think they have really started producing them yet.. that doesnt mean they cant.. so what's your point?

Point is, they're trying to make this thing out to be the second comming of GM (they've had radio spots on NPR for the last year about it, for example) and they've only got 80 of these things physically on the road. Where is the promising technology that us, the american taxpayer paid for?

long distance trade was isolated from local markets in order to protect local producers. It was only with the development of a strong centralized state, and the power it wielded, that integration was forced.
