Nissan redesigns their cars every couple years ?
350Z = Basically the same since introduction in 2003 (5 years)

Altima = Same design from 2002-2006 model years (5 years)

Maxima = Same design from 2004-2006 model years (3 years)

Sentra = Same design from 2000-2006 model years (7 years)
All the G bodies where essentially the same car....They lasted from ~78/79 to 88. That's roughly 12 years x 4 different models.

Same for the B Bodies.

Same for the J bodies except different time periods.

The point being....GM is one of the slowest companies to redesign a car. I think that is a good thing.

When I worked in the body shop, a smashed up 1995 toyota camry came in. $8k repair and it didn't total! Had 120k miles on it. Why didn't it total? Because it had a high resale value because people are stupid enough to believe that they are good cars. But thats how big companies make money, praying on the minds of the stupid and uneducated.
WTF are you smoking? How many GM vehicles ever see 100K, I know mine didn't before I had to replace the engine. Camry's are excellent and reliable cars. They have a high re-sale value for a reason other than people are stupid.

I buy GM cars @ 100k.

If you properly maintain and actually open the **** hood of your car so know will know ASAP if something is wrong then you won't have any problems (for the most part)

If your 3.8 II didn't make it to 200k either you got a bad one or you don't know how to take car of cars.

its not our fault u dont know proper maintenance. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/*******.gif.a649d21efc0d1fd4890a6428166586c1.gif

yea pretty much the only time ive heard of a gm motor kickin it before 100k was when my buddie killed his camaro v8 so he could swap in a v10 other than that everyone i know including myself who has a gm vehicle has been extremely satisfied with it.

ummm i pourchase GM vehicles at well over 100k on the clock allthe time and love them. People who bash GM dont really know shiot about vehicles... Anyone know a toyota owner who's motor isnt gummed up to all hell... or who's ifnition doesnt stick all the time ? or that have breaks that last more then around 10-15k max ? or how about a power steering system without any problems. Not many un reliable GM vehicles out there.... fauk is a retard as we all know from his anti hunting thread... when was the last time you had a friend who's saturn was broken or having a problem ? They have vary nice resale value to be honest... look at the mid 90's models they are running close to those shitty camerys and accords... GM has always produced a nice vehicle. The 80's and early 90's GM brand got a total bad wrap due to purchased reviews by the import companies. any way you look at it GM is always going to be #1 in everything here in the free world.... Japanese companies dont count cause they dont have free trade... Its easy to dominate a country in sales when no one else is allowed to sell vehicles there without taxes that are more then the vehicle cost its self....

We own 3 GM vehicals (91 suburban 168k miles, 87 suburban? or something, it has 6 wheels about 150k miles, 05 Yukon XL) The 87 has had a few problems after 100k, the 91 had a engine swap at 95k(around that) to a 454. cuse the old one pretty much had way too many problems. The Yukon is up to about 65k miles now, no problems so far. I like GM cars cuse they usually have alot of power and towing ability. But they do start breakin down, but i mean every car does, they just do it a little tiny faster.

woops forgot we got a 95 pontiac firebird too, has alot of problesm around 130k miles. Brother spent over $5k fixing it back up. But it just keeps having more and more problems.

My friend has a Camaro at 121XXX with no engine or ****** problems. My other friend's parents own a '94-'96 Suburban that hasn't had one hiccup, and body is perfect. The same family has two Chevy 1-tons for company work, both without problems.

My cavalier never ran rough, but the body went to shit because people don't wash cars aside from water and soap.

The big argument I hear is that people who think GM's are unreliable are those who don't know how to work on cars. I think thats the whole point. Most people do not know how to work on cars so they go for a car that needs very little maintenance. Resale value is based on general population, not a small group of gearheads.

Let see my list here.

Owned Honda, Jeep, Ford, GMC, Toyota, Chevy, Nissan, Pontiac

Honda-Mom got a Civic-I had a 89 Prelude SI-Currently 1999 Prelude-Absolutely bullet Proof at over 150k still run's and drives like new

Ford-Probably best I have owned as far as SUV and Trucks-Explore Sporttrac-excellent best all do everything I have owned, Currently F250 Crew Cab Diesel-Have had three never seen service for any reason, Expedition-Great so far at 43,000 miles.

Jeep-2 different Wranglers-Junk more Junk and More Junk

GMC-Sonoma Pick-up never had any issues through 120k still was perfect

Toyota-Toyota SR5 Pickup-excellent truck but not enough oomhp

Chevy-Both I had where complete crap

Nissan-1996 Sentra ran like a top, Altima-Service twice under warranty electrical prob. in 135k

Pontiac-Crap and more Crap nothing but problems

Most of any of these cars will last for a long time as long as you take of them and do proper maintenance-Oil Change, Filter, Brakes, *****.

Right now for cars I will not by American until they get there act together.

Trucks and SUVs no one does it better that the US boys.

Dumbass even owns a GM!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

My fiance has had an LTZ Lumina for the past 5 years and has 140,000 miles on it and not had one problem with it. Did a carfax for it and nothing has ever been wrong with it. Only major problem with it was the wrong pin stripe they put on when it was rear ended. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif Besides that, runs like a top. Is all in how you take care of your vechichle. I dont care what color, type, model it is, unless you get a lemon, it is all on you. Change the oil every 3000 miles and keep up on light maintence and you should be fine, also dont drive it like an idiot all the time might help too.
