I'm not sure I understand your point. Humanity hinges on the idea that people are capable of making rational decisions. It's immoral to kill another human being without just cause because of a sense of morality, that is, the idea that we all share, at a base level, the same set of moral ideals. A deer, on the other hand, lacks the same rational mindedness of humans. Therefore, on that fundamental level, I am superior. If I want to kill a deer to put food on the table for a family, I have the moral obligation to do that.

I wish to someday be a real economist. 99% of our theories rest on rational people. You know as well as I that people are not rational.

But by the design of nature, the deer cannot (with an equal chance) kill you. So you are, in essens, squashing bugs.

Putting food on the table is not what I am talking about. I would much rather kill a deer than you to put food on the table. But I will do what I must.

I am referring to those who kill animals for the thrill of killing another animal. I shoot a deer, chop of its head, and tell my friends. That is the person I am agianst. Not one who uses deer as a mechanism for the sustainment of life.

a military based aristocracy would crush the lower class into doing their bidding while the upperclass would be free to squabble away on things of more importance than what they would be doing in the democratic society (having a job, earning money)

no because those forced to "competitive advantages" are still being forced to work under a ruling class , just a more advanced one with religion being on top instead of a king
the caste system is still a form of aristocracy, just one with cow worshipping on the top tier

Ah, I see what you're saying now. I've never even been hunting myself (except for a few squirrels when I was younger and went with my brother). But I don't see what's wrong with killing a deer for sport AND eating it.

But like my dad was watching some hunting show, and they basically got this bear to come eat out of a garbage can every day while they sat high and safe in a tree. Then one day they just shot it. The bear was sitting their stuffing it's face all peaceful and beautifully in harmony with nature, and they ruined it just to get a trophy. You could tell they weren't killing it for food...

And I know deer can't attack you, but I have a lot more respect for most bow hunters, at least how my uncles and cousins do it, because they don't use stands. They stay on the ground, which I think is a lot more fair than hiding up in the trees where it really has no chance of seeing you.

I am against hunting as a sport. If you said, "I like deer meat, I think I will kill me a deer to eat" then that is acceptable as variety is good for diet etc.

If you say: I am motivated to hunt because I am inherently superior to deer then that is not okay. To get your jollies by eliminating a innocent deer is on the same plan as beating the hell out of a kid. Taking your own shortcomings out of defenseless beings make you a sick person.
