thats complete bull shit what have schools came 2? by the time your in high school your old enough to decide if you want to drink or not.

Yea I know a lot of kids whos parents know they drink and they dont give a shit

This is fucking bullshit. Its a fucking waste of tax payers dollars and a direct violation of a person's right to privacy. Just because these people arent 18 yet doesnt mean that they have any less rights than anyone else.

I agree, it is a waste of money. Schools these days are getting more and more leeway on what they are allowed to do to students at school and it is ridiculous. It's like schools are friggin mini societies within a society with a dick head dictator telling you how to act.

They dont have rights to be drinking alchohol as minors. If it wasnt a law, then Id agree with you, but it is therefore its of no violation at all. Im gonna guess your also against drug tests?

Every year this country loses me just a lil bit. Drug screens and alcohol testing to participate in extra curriculars and athletics I halfway understand but this is just pathetic. Pretty soon parents won't have to do anything. The schools and government will assume all control in the parenting of each child.

Its not the schools place to test for drinking though. If students are able to drink on the weekend and still do good in school during the week, then what the hell does it matter. And that still doesnt matter though. Simply put, ITS NOT THE SCHOOLS JOB. Schools are for teaching and learning. Not disciplining for what people do outside of school time, on the weekend, and off school grounds.

I see drug tests a little differently for employment. They **** *** but the company has the right to know if you have some extracurricular activities that may hurt the company. Now however, I dont see marijuana as a threat to a company like that. And I quote "Marijuana doesnt ruin lives, Marijuana laws ruin lives"

They still have a right to privacy. This kind of testing can bring up false positives in which parents/children will need to divulge treatment to the school that they otherwise didn't want to. For athletics and such drug testing is beneficial. this in no way is creating a benefit.

And your Rights ALWAYS come before Laws. Thats why I know someone who got busted with an eigth of weed but he got out of it scott free because the cop was a dumbass who was invading his privacy and searched without consent, warrant, or probably cause.

As the article read, theyre not discipling, theyre helping. Whether its their place or not has been voted on and obviously approved by the majority. Its a simpler way to help parents. Would I be opposed to my kids having a few drinks here and there? No, provided the rest of their life is in order and it hasnt taken any negative affect on it.

Schools have trained people to see/hear/help what some parents let slip by, this is just a step further to do that. IF the 'counseling' is mandatory, then I may have a problem with it, but making parents aware that their children have been drinking I am not at all opposed to.

Not only that but YOU can choose whether to take the test or find employment elsewhere. These kids and parents for the most part can't just decide not to attend school.
