Like I said, it's nice, never a problem with mine...but if he's set on getting an A/B amp, then it doesn't apply to him //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Ma Audio's new class X amplifier, which is nothing more than a digitally controlled A/B amplifier, effectively becoming an emulated class H amplifier!

At least I think that's how it goes....

i thoght it was a cascaded class D design -- modulated PSU + class D output stage. visionik described the amp as "class D with digitially controlled power supply". i can only assume it reduces dynamic power losses in the switching devices.

of course that could mean many things.

I finally bought a DMM today and want to properly set my gains. For mids im using 200 watts into 4 ohms. so sqrt(200x4)=28.28

Now for subs im using 400 watts (four channel amp bridged into 2) into a dual 4 ohm load (or two ohm final load per channel). So it would be sqrt(400x2)=28.28.. Im confused as to why both would be at the same voltage. Both amps are PG xenon 200.4's and the subs are L7's.

Should both voltages be the same or am i missing something? Also with an eclipse 8454 what do you think i should use as a maximum volume? is 75/80 to high? Should i use 70/80 not to get any distortion in the signal?

Ok thanks for the quik reply. Just seems weird to me because one is putting out 200 watts per channel and the other 400.. so i thought they should have different AC voltages.

Does the tech answer have something to do with the fact that one is at 4 ohms and the other at 2 ohms? what i mean since the resistence is lower on the 2 ohm the same AC voltage goes farther or something. I just dont understand how the same AC voltage can be 200 watts, and 400 watts, unless it has something to do with the resistence that the load is meeting when it gets to the speaker. I hope what im trying to say makes some amount of sense.

Yes, it has everything to do with the impedance load. One amp has 4 ohms of resistance and puts out 200w at 4 ohms, and the other amp has half the resistance (allowing the current to flow easier throughout the circuit), causing roughly twice the output at the same voltage.

Does any one here run these, ever heard them or heard anything about them? I like the 5.25 i have but am looking for more midbass. It would be nice to stick with PG and have the 9-5-1 comp but if they **** or something better can be had much cheaper i would consider something else. The one requirement is a VERY shallow mounting depth. The elites have 2.5" mounting depth. Ive looked at just getting some morels but it wouldnt be that much cheaper and wouldnt come with grills that match the rest of my set up.

Here is the cheapest ive found the elites,

I have one of these sitting around and i dont know much about it. It looks rough but it works. Its rated 185x2 at .5 ohm stereo and at 12.5 volts. Ive never been able to give it a .5 ohm stereo load to really see how it puts out. Im just wondering if anyone knows anything about this amp or how much it would really put out at 14.4...is this thing underated much or worth anything?
