Fox News has really gone down hill since a Democrat was elected president. And that's sad, as it was the one major news organization that went against the grain of the otherwise extremely liberal media in this country. Better? Worse? Who cares, they all have an agenda. Like said above, its the double standards that ruin it for everyone. To name one example, many of the people I know who use to say who cares if Bill Clinton had extra marital affairs in the oval office, doesn't affect his ability to do his job... are the very same people now saying Sanford is no longer a viable (republican) candidate in 2012 because he has a mistress in Argentina. *shrug*
next election will be rigged anyway. payback for bush 2004.

Yes the new is biased period, but fox news is notorious for it. Also Im not democrat nor republician. I think having 'sides' is the reason people can't get alone, it's human nature to bundle up together and try to fight a cause, but being that we have sides is causing people to overlook the whole thing.

I agree with the Obama adminstrations health care plan because it's the only one I see that could actually work. Show me a republicians, hell, even another democrats that works better than Ill say go for that one. BUT until I see a better plan, then I say go with the one we have. This communist junk is retarded. Make it law to where this private insurance company get paid and bonuses on how healthy their cilents are and if their cilents are satisfied. Don't let Obama touch my Medicare! Lol.

The system is set up to keep real people and new ideas out. Look back when Ross Perot ran for president. The first time, he received 25% of the popular vote. 4 years later when the govt handed out funding for campaigns... he received less than 5% of the money, while the two major party candidates received the lion's share of the money. Freedom is an illusion.

Well the point is they fired him not because he called out burgers, fries, chicken, and donuts...They fired him because he said eating at mcdonalds, kfc, and dunkin will kill your *** which is slander...he coulda downed chicken all he wanted to but dont fuq with the colonel...w3rd

medicare won't make it 10 years. look at the finances. it is a strategical error for democrats to tout medicare as being anything like their plan, which i've heard many times from dems. medicare will be broke by 2018. great plan.

If you are referring to the electoral college/Al Gore debacle... its the democrats who tried to change the rules when they realized the long-standing system in place wasn't going to help 'their' man into office. Funny how you dont hear Dem's crying to remove the electoral college anymore, isn't it?

Faux ushered in the era of for profit infotainment. New reporting used to be something stations did as a public service and profit margins weren't the main goal. CNN created the model and Faux exploited it as much as possible to the point that all news has been pulled down to its level.

They're so successful at this point they practically have more control over the political agenda than the president does. They have mastered to art of public manipulation and carried it to heights unparalleled by any other media outlet.

Even on mute faux news is sickening. Have you noticed how everything is red white and blue? Their on screen graphics make it look like you're staring at an American flag, offering that subtle suggestion that if you disagree you hate America. They're great at fueling people's blind nationalism.

Addressing your example of a double standard, the problem is that Sanford ran as a family values traditionalist. All politicians do this to a point but the GOP certainly takes it further with their evangelical alignment.

Bill Clinton could have an affair and still have the support of his base. Sanford can't and that's why he is no longer a viable candidate.

Medicare was thought out anyway when made into law. It was just a quick fix, to help seniors live their 'golden' years. It should be rid of entirely IMO. I don't think thier should be 'free' government healthcare, but I do agree the government should throw in a option that will help them lower thier price. I pay about 140 every two weeks for heatlhcare for me and my son which is about 280 a month. Which is crazy high when we only go to the doctor for check ups.

Here would be my plan, input a government option, at a resonable price to help promote competition among the blood suckers. Also with car, house, life, or what ever other kind of insurance, you should get 30% back if nothing comes up for that year or even two years. I mean if I put money in this pot to be insured, and nothing happens. Shouldn't my family get a portion of that money back?

Yet you also dont hear many republicans calling to end medicare because its a single payer socialist system.. Why not? Because its political ******* and the vast majority of medicare patients are satisfied with their coverage.

At least Obama is trying to find ways for him to pay for his expansion... where did the money for the medicare part D program come from? Oh ya Bush and the GOP controlled house/senate just tacked it onto the deficit.

where were these town hall protesters back then?

i don't think we should do nothing, but the government "throwing" themself into has many implications. how are companies who have to make a profit supposed to survive against a company who cares nothing about making anything? it will drop in cost initially, but 10-15 years down the road, i put my money on the government putting all of them out of business, unless they bail them out, in which case you have total government healthcare by proxy. i say we come up with a better plan. i'm not an expert in healthcare, but i've heard TORT reform and frivolous lawsuit reform thrown around as ideas. i'd have to hear an actual debate, by 2 smart people from both sides to actually make a decision. that isn't going to happen.

I could be way off but wasnt the funding distributed according to primary support?

agreed. you have a tone as if i'm taking the repubs side here. these protestors have the same % ignorant as the left who protested the RNC. the hypocrite free speech columbia university crowd who shouted down tom tancredo. it seems the left is making a big issue because people on the other side are succesfully using their tactics. pretty petty of people to use jealousy as a motivation to shut down the ammendment rights that your side champions. can we agree that both sides ****? america has become a pathetic people, intent on being igorantly partisan all the way to the 3rd world. possibly slight exaggeration

A public option would not be able to dip into the general fund. It would have to support itself in the same way that all private insurers do. It would compete with them giving incentives for reducing cost.

FedEx/UPS compete just fine with the USPS. Private school seem to do just fine against public schools.
