Well they already do it when they rank emergencies according to immediate need. It's not a take a number system where they treat people in order. You're not going to get seen because you need a tetanus shot when you stepped on a nail while the guy with a bullet hole waits.. they are gatekeepers already.

true, but I am thinking referring them to a PCP is slightly different.But not the way you use it. How would you move the patint from hospital to PCP?

I use a single PCP as it keeps all medical records/paperwork together.

Common practice? You're being a bit overdramatic here. The stimulus funding is the notorious bill falling into this category. While I do agree that was outrageous, to say it is common practice is just a flat out lie.

Excuse me, I should have said becoming common practice. Go ask your congressman to explain any major piece of legislation he's voted on in the past 6 months. Listening to these guys get interviewed about legislation is like listening to my garbage man getting interviewed, except with more lies and posturing.

Don't they understand the healthcare system is broken, and if their against this plan so much, why haven't anyone else stepped up with another plan. The economy is slowly coming to, and it has nothing to do with protester. This stuff makes me pisssed, it's a goverment option, not Canadian, French, or what ever other universal healthcare. People are scared, simple, and scaring people gets them way more involved. I wish this people put this energy they wasting into helping kids, are something else positive.

there are many plans, from many sides. i agree that people are misinformed, and are also making stupid comparisons to nazis, etc. although i do remember a democrat, nancy pelosi, the 3rd in line to the president running her mouth about all the protestors carrying swastikas. stupidity comes from both sides. alot of those people live in the right wing bubble, just as you seem to be living in the left wing bubble. i still get a kick out of liberals complaining about right wing fox news, especially since nbc, cbs, and abc are all in the tank for democrats, and especially obama. so i attest that republicans and democrats are on the same level of being mis-informed. republicans and dems need to look in the dam mirror every once in a while. all the sudden, dissent isn't the highest from of patriotism, because your guy is in there during bush, it was. double standards are drowning this country.

The patient could most likely move themselves to the PCP.. after all they got mostly likely got to the ER on their own if they are being referred to the PCP as a nonemergency .. Additionally, many hospitals are in large medical complexes that include pcp clinics, specialists, ect. In that case they could simply walk down the hallway or to another building on campus.

My history at each clinic is one file... it just has entries from multiple doctors. The reason i even use two clinics is because before i left for Korea i lived 60 miles away from uni campus.. sometimes i'd go to the one where i lived and others i just go to the one near school.. now that i live close to school i'll probably just stick with the one here.

Nonetheless, I'm leery of having a single medical file because i dont want to ever be labeled a "drug seeker". I am not one, but it only takes one suspicious doctor to make a notation and you're fukked.

I don't ever go just to get narcotics or tranquilizers but by god if i have a cough/cold i want some tussionex (hydrocodone cough syrup) or if i cant sleep/stressed i want some xanax/valium.

I pay upfront and out of pocket, so if i determine i feel shitty enough to warrant paying $80 for the visit and then another $80 for tussionex and who knows how much for antibiotics ect.. they better not give me no shit and waste my time/money.

I'm pretty assertive with them and will explain my requests. I've never had a problem, but i know from people who work in clinics that they do fuk with people they deem drug seekers. It would really piss me off if I paid the moeny for an office visit and they denied me.

I think its probably clear from the frequency i'm seen that i am not a drug seeker. Nonetheless, I'm pretty assertive with them about my requests. Fox News has really gone down hill since a Democrat was elected president. And that's sad, as it was the one major news organization that went against the grain of the otherwise extremely liberal media in this country. Better? Worse? Who cares, they all have an agenda. Like said above, its the double standards that ruin it for everyone. To name one example, many of the people I know who use to say who cares if Bill Clinton had extra marital affairs in the oval office, doesn't affect his ability to do his job... are the very same people now saying Sanford is no longer a viable (republican) candidate in 2012 because he has a mistress in Argentina. *shrug*
