I have seen and heard bad things about the woofs im using the SPLW12's mostly by people who have never heard them or had personal experiences with them. I have seen and heard RE's woofs not doing so great either by #'s or by burnin up. So all of you who stated all the bad things, I just have to laugh at you!! Im glad, all of those who bashed the SPLW's and said, they make great boat anchors and that they cant handle the power. Well I must admit they dont like 1250wrms daily that is for sure, but they do like 5000wrms+ for burps. Im really glad I didnt run out and spend the cash and purchase a pair of the SX's.
Anyways, my friend brought his car over and I hooked up his Orion 2500D with mine and it was still connected to his battery and with his car running to my subs. Wired the subs down to .5ohm to each of the amps, and burped a tone of 53hz for 3 seconds and handled it X-tremely well. We did this 6 times with approx 5 minutes apart
I tried this because im gonna do some upgrades before finals and wanted to see if the Orion would take the .5 ohm load and to see if the woofs could take it. I was gonna purchase 2-audioques hd12's but after this im just gonna stay with the SPLW's. So this will be my upgrades before finals:
Iraggi 200amp alto
1 more Orion 2500D
1 more Knukoncepts 1/0guage kit
2 new batterys 1 under the hood and 1 in the trunk.
