Why isnt my system loud?

Im running a memphis pr 12d4v2 with a memphis mc1000d at 2 ohms so 600 watts and it does rated at 12v. My sub is in a long slot ported truck box about 49in long 5 in wide and 14.5 in tall.

Box volume idk long truck ported

Box tuning unknown

just glancing at the specs, you are at 1 cube of it were sealed, you said it is ported, so you can deduct from there...and I am assuming 3/4" wood thickness. The sub calls for 1.5 optimum sealed and 2.35 optimum ported.

the sub box its in is ported i do not know the hz its tuned to but the box is 49inch long 5-7in wide it gets larger and 14.5in tall

how can i make it where its heard for a block or two because my budy has 900 watts to a memphis m3 and it pounds super hard.

ive seen it this before. one of my friends on this forum competes in same org i do. he was doing a 149.8 or 150 on 700watts on a single 15.

oh sorry i just went and checked his PF. it was on a single 18 btl with 800watts, and it was a 151.3 lol

OP- Please follow the advice everyone is putting in on the box (thats your weakest link). With a well tuned box and the correct airspace even entry level POS subs can sound good and get loud.

If your not up to designing/building the perfect enclosure there are a few guys in the enclosure forum that will design you a box tuned to your specific car/truck + there are lots of generic plans that will fit in back of alot of SUV's. I just had Mobile Enclosures hook me up with a sick box for 1/2 of what shops charge.

ohh. still pretty good. ive only gotten to a 47 with a 15 on 1200.

Just buy another PR 12 D4v2, get them in a good slot ported box with adequate port area and tune to mid 30's. Drop the impedance down to 1 ohm, then you will be doubling cone area, doubling power AND getting the gains from a ported box vs sealed....you could realistically expect at least 12+ db in output. Possibly more at the listening area depending on sub/port/box placement. Major gains in output, bro.
