why isnt my system hitting hard

are you sure your running a low ohm load?

you said +to+ -to- ?

try taking a multi meter to it to make sure your in the correct range, also are you sure its 60-65 hz? thats CRAZY? lol most boxes are in the 32-34 range

before investing any major money on batts(although you NEED them) do the big 3(wires from alt to batt, batt to engine block, batt to chassis) do it in some 0 guage

if money isnt a problem upgrade your wire, it WILL help and a battery in the back will also!

it sounds like the subs are getting WAY to little power.

ohm it out, get more specifics about the box, and GOOD LUCK!

So you have 2 amps, both sub's are hooked up to 1 amp, and you only have a y adapter splitting the RCA's out to the 2nd amp? Is that all you did to hook up the second amp other then power, ground, and speaker wire?

is anyone else in here from the grand rapids area? if so i would be willing to meet up with u somewhere and have u take a look at it and let me know. and im not completely sure about what the port is tuned to. i had the box built almost a year ago and from what i remember that is what he said. and who all on here knows how to make the right box im gonna need for the max spl for my 9500s?

man this sucks for you. Hope someone can meet up with you and help out. Yes, with that equiptment, even 1 of those amps, you should be bangin 140 on music. Maybe try that, just run 1 or both subs off one amp for a few minutes and see if it changes the sound at all. I dont know anything about strapping amps as you say yours are? Thats the way I understood it anyway, good luck and keep us posted.

both subs are hooked up to one amp and then the second amp is hooked up to the other amp with a yrca and i forgot that they are at one ohm right now. the subs are dual 4s.

you are only using one amplifier worth of power if the subs are only wired to one amp.

ok so i went out and switch it so one sub is on one amp and the other sub is on the other amp. bother amps have there own power wire ran and it seems to be a little better but not what they should be at so i am on the right track here. and i have another question, does a trunk defeat the purpose of my ported box?

what you need to do is have that shit redone completely so you know exactly what the mistake is.

google "woofer wiring wizard", click the first link to get a diagram of how to wire your subs

research on here on how to properly set your gains and how to wire up stacked amps.

The problem is obviously the install.

i have a alpine head unit, i have two different sets of four gauge wires and the rca is from the same kit that i bought(the rockford fosgate kit), and they dont offer a much bigger altinator for my car
mechman has an 250 amp alt for your car, i had one for my 99 but sold it.

ok i checked my ohm load and they are at 2 ohms because they are hooked up to seperate amps now, all the wireing is right. i searched on here for gain settings and i couldnt find anything so maybe someone could shed some light on that topic for me. some people have also been telling me that me head unit could be the problem and that i need a better one. the head unit that i am using is an alpine(cde-9881 model). is that a pretty good head unit?

That generation alpine is notorious for needing to have the subwoofer output turned way the hell up in order to get proper signal voltage to the amp.

search "gain setting tutorial", i guarentee you will get results.

move the amps and pull your box back as far as it woul go (the port right up against where the trunk closes) without the subs touching the trunkend

usually works best

tryit

you need to go back through the entire install. if youre doing 120's you have a huge problem. i did an install w. 2 8"s in .9 cubes Before sub displacement and it was better than that on 400watts. I would see if someone around here could walk you through the process.

don't worry about any electrical or alts or batteries like that right now, try to figure out why the system isnt producing any output.
