I personally thought that the 15XXX's were way overrated, didn't seem to go as low as I'd like, I listen to a lot of stuff with double bass. I'm waiting for the new eD's and the new RE's before anything though.

I think alot of people miss the whole point with the W7...

It isn't meant to be the loudest best sounding sub in the world. It is however one of the most unique subs in the world. Just about every single part of the sub is completely custom, no off the shelf stuff used. Most internet companies are using mostly off the shelf items to build their subs (although the new RE sub is looking very unique, but I can still see some off the shelf parts on it). Not saying that makes the W7 better than the other subs or anything, just that it was built to make a statement, plain and simple. Its supposed to sound good, and people like Tom Nousaine, very acredited reviewers, have backed that up. If you put it in the hands of someone who knows what they are doing, they can get stupid loud (quite a few W7 installs at the top of their classes in MECA I know of and a few other leagues as well), and just looking at the sub reinforces everything else.

If money were no object and I could have any sub I wanted, it wouldn't be the W7 though. I'd go with something a bit more rare, definantly something capable of amazing IB results, probably something like the Oz Audio 200Ls I think they are, or something along those lines.

Got the below statement from another thread. Might shine some light on the subject. Very impressive if nothing else.

the reason people always bring up price is because price is a real concern for most people. is the w7 a good sub? of course, but the price to performance ration ***** for most people. if people dont have a lot of money then price is what comes into play. no matter how good a sub is, if you cant afford it then you cant have it. anyways back to the question, if all the subs were free, im not sure i would take a w7, just cause i heard a w6v2 and i didnt like the way it sounded(but it could of been a bad install too). but then again i heard some people say the JL sound is different from other subs, so maybe its just not for me.
