Why do so many people think speakers PUSH watts

It is mainly the ghetto community... But I have heard a few others as well. Litterally almost every ghetto person I get that comes in goes man how many watts do those speakers push...... Push?..... yeah like how loud that be because the more watts a speaker has the louder it is.... Sometimes I blow them off sometimes I explain speakers don't push whats. It isn't like the HP on your engine( perhaps where they got if from lol lol) it is a capacity which typically isn't rated correctly. It is more like engine size rather than engine HP. most say AHHHH.... But I ain't kidding almost EVERY ghetto person that comes in says push watts..... GRRRR it is annoying. That is why most ghetto people have pyle and pyramid ... I try to get them to get a Type R 12 that is underrated at 500 watts and they go no i don't want that junk. That pyle 1600 watt sub over there is way louder blah blah lol

I really don't know what to say to people when they ask me how many watts my amplifier is... I mean, like you said most people who run "2000W amps" are really using off brand, peak-rated amps that really run about 200-300 RMS on a cold day in hell, or something similar, and if you tell them your RMS wattage they think yours is inferior, etc. etc. it's just a pain in the ***.

kinda like me being told the other day my system is jl loud

but yeah i always tell them the truth about my amp and they say oh thats it i always give them a taste of my system. they usually shut up after that.

Trying to sell good stuff is a ***** on craigslist... I was trying to sell my M850 (which puts out 800rms) and ppl were telling me that $170 was too high because these other crap amps were $100- $150 and were "2000 watt amps" ..

yeah i had to educate the shjt out of my brother i gave him one of my eclipse sw9122 and an older fosgate 800a2 for his b-day

and he was saying blah blah i want more subs it will be louder my friend has a american pro 2k watt amp and three 10's and it knocks

so i installed the sw9122 and the fosgate and lol he didnt say crap it was way better

Doesn't work with the ghetto ones... I thought the same thing... tried it failed... ready for the excuse.....

Yeah they sound louder in here but speakers will sound different in a car and the higher watts one will be louder....
