Who Has Limo Tint on their cars.....any Legal Problems yet?

In May of 2005, I got my 1997 Z34 Tinted 5% all around. I had the car until march of 06..and the cops never said a word to me.

In June of 2006, I got my 2000 SS Monte Carlo tinted, 5% all around. I got stopped once by a cop and he just busted my butt a little bit, told me to be careful. We talked about how my dad was a cop for a while and so on, he just let me go. In November of 2006 I was driving through a local higher income area of the town, where there is a taco bell located on the main drag. I was going to meet some friends and a cop nailed me.He gave me a speeding ticket, and a violation for my windows, and a violation for my license plate cover. I got out of the speeding ticked, pulled my tint off on my two side windows now have to miss a day of work to plead not guilty so i don't have to pay a 106.00 fine. Agrivating kinda, that cops kinda bust our balls on this stuff even if it is their job, and we are technically breaking the law. Sorry im spending my money on my car, and not other contraband..

heres the monte 5%....tints gone now though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Anything darker than 35% on a windshield is retarted, and so is double 5% on the sides. Im surprised you found a shop that would do either.
lol personal opinion...but its not my DD anyways. it used to be though. i never had any problems unless driving on roads with no lights (rare)

heres pics though, flame if you must, they did in the last therad i posted these pics in...

my daily driver: 5% sides, 15% windshield

To the guy who has 5% on his front windshield thats a lil over kill unless you have (4) HID kits installed or something //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Here's my setup that I've had for 3 years...

Double 5% on sides over factory privacy glass and 35% on widshield with a 20% 7" visor, I really like how the paint just blends in with the tint...

Used model car window tint spray on the tailights...

looks sexy

i have a 7-8" 5% visor over my 5% windshield btw lol

but i lol @ people that say 5 is hard to see out of. i guess u just gotta be used to it. 5 compared to my truck is like comparing clear glass with 5%

I've got 5% on my rear doors and the rear "windshield" if you will. Been pulled over for it (that's what I was told anyway) 3 times now including one where the Dep. Sheriff that stopped me pulled the old Tint-O-Meter out of his car and verified that it was too dark to be in complicance with Louisiana's tint regulations.
Thus far, *knock on wood*, I haven't been actually ticketed for it yet.
weird. i was almost sure you could have the rear doors/windshield as dark as you wanted. I'm in LA also, right outside of Baton Rouge.

anyways, i've had 5% all around with a 5% strip for a few months and haven't gotten any warnings or anything. guy i know has triple 5% on his sides and rear, triple limo tint (2% iirc) strip which goes LOW....and like double 20% on the windshield....he hasn't gotten pulled over yet after like 2 years with it....it's SO nice during the day...but i've rode with him at night and it's just ridiculous....i don't think i'd ever do THAT dark.

but, after my experience, i wouldn't ever tint a vehicle lighter than 5%. my next vehicle will have 5 over 20 and 35 on the windshield
