First and foremost this car has gone through a few changes since Ive taken over ownership last year.

I started with an Eclipse CD7000 up front, Rockford Fosgate 4-way 6x9's and a pair of ID8's on a Cadence Z1200. Then I switched it up to my Alpine CDA-9887 and some Eclipse SC6500's up front and nothing in the rear. Then to no sub stage. Heres whats in here now.

Car: 08 Dodge Caliber SE 2.0L

HU: Alpine CDA-9887, KTP-445 Power Pack, KCE-422i iPod, 8Gb iPod Touch, KTX-100EQ Imprint

Front Stage: Morel made Xtant 28MM silk domes, Eclipse SC6500 mids, Eclipse SC6500 passive crossovers. All ran off the HU with the KTP-445.

Rear Stage: Nothing

Sub Stage: Audiomobile Evo 2210 S24 10" in 1.1 cubes with ~10oz poly fill

Wiring: Stinger Custom Pro 4awg, KnuKonceptz Mini ANL fuse holder, Rockford Rosgate RFI16 RCA's

Amp: Eclipse XA5000. Only using the sub channel right now, but will be active by the end of the summer

Deadener: Second Skin Damp Pro, Second Skin CLD tiles, closed cell foam

Lets start with some pics of the gear.

So now on to parts of the build. I dont have alot of pictures. I just got in the grove and didnt take very many once I started.

Here is some of the Damp that was laid in the hatch. This is under the spare tire and all the factory matting.

Here is the box and mounting the sub. The angle on the back fits my back seats so it slides right into place. Here is a quick test fit.

I had to use 6x9 to 6.5" adapters. The ones used here are Rockford Fosgate adapters. They are about 1/4" thick.

Here is a quick comparison on how thick the adapter is in comparison to a tweeter without the flush mount cup.

Here are the crossovers being wired up. They are mounted inside the doors behind the speakers. They are velcro'd in place.

After that comes the majority of the work I have pictures of. The deadening and CCF in the hatch panels.

And then here is what I got done today. I was able to wrap the amp rack and get the sub and amp installed.

For the amp rack I just used the particle board I had laying around. No point in spending money on MDF when this will be fine for what its being used for. The corners are notched out to fit around the rear paneling.

It was wrapped in a black felt.

how do you like the 9887/imprint compared to the cd7000
The CD7000 was a good HU. The good thing about the 7000 was it allowed closer crossover settings and more accurate time alignment. The 9887 is incremental and the values are either inches or centimeters and are preset. They are based on the speed of sound so you cant tweak half or tenths of a second like you could on the CD7000. But the sound difference over the CD7000 was enough for me.

better quality internals then? Because i love the cd7k but am lazy and would like the auto tuning feature btw clean install how does your front stage sound on the power pack

Sounds great. I want more flexibility so Ill be going active this summer. No point in having the 9887 without using all its features. I prefer the Alpine iPod interface as well. Much faster and easier to navigate. Front stage is in the works. I have a set of Aura NS6 mids as well if I dont like the SC6500's active. Doors are next as well. They will be torn apart and get the deadener/CCF treatment.
