type R's just set 2 MECA records yesterday... mr1 and db1...
just wait until finals...

type R is a new woofer, the stroker name has been around since before most of this forum was thought of... accolades, whatever... this is 2005...

From what Ive seen of the new strokers, nothing all that impressive. No experience with stroker pro, but the stroker makes a crappy SPL woofer.

Looks like this stroker was made for spl...either that or Im confused.

I have read a very good review about the new Stroker having excellent SQ and SPL! One report I heard on Termpro: 2 10" new Strokers powered by a EXT3000D = 151.9dB!
As far as the Stroker Pro it is not a "one note wonder". It has great SQ and SPL! Check out the excellent review that CA&E did on it: http://caraudiomag.com/testreports/0510cae_cvstroker/

151.9 is a decent street A score... but when 155db is the pace, its not so hot.

When has CA&E ever done a "bad" review? They will never point out the bad points... most likely the pro is extremely ineffeciant...

I have experience with all of the above woofers except the stroker pro...

IMO I am in a position to say what will work better and where...

There would be no "bandwagon" if the type R didn't perform. It performs and its extremely cheap, what more do you want?

Pay 1000+ for a stroker pro... maybe it will have comparable performance once you stack on 3x the power?

the stroker is old news, period... as can be seen by the dates of those new stories.

It was THE woofer in the mid/late 90's...

The new ones are NOTHING like the old ones, not even really comparable... Quoting old news and saying the stroker is such a great woof means nothing.

As I said earlier, I HAVE both on hand... and the stroker cant hold up to the R, or even come CLOSE to it for daily driving... the stroker only has the advantage at very high fart notes...
