Which set-up would be better?

I currently have a 2004 Acura TSX, and am plannign on transfering my subs from my previous car into it.

Current set up is purely just subs in addition to my stock system, since the TSX is the one with Navi, I cannot easily add a new head unit.d

-Amp: Kenwood KAC-8105D

-Subs: 2 Memphis Audio 15-PR12D4V2

-Box: Nasty Pre-Fab box

I wanted to know if I could get better bass sound quality and loudness with better subwoofers, box, and maintaining the same amp.

I have looked at a few choices and so far I have looked at:

-Two Rockford Fosgate P1 12s, probably their loaded enclosure

http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/p_28499_Rockford_Fosgate_P1-2X12.aspx

-One Rockford Fosgate P3 12 (or a 15 in a wedge styled box)

http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/p_18000_Rockford_Fosgate_P3D4-12.aspx

-Two JL Audio 12W0v3 Wired together for 2-Ohm

JL Audio 12W0v3-4 W0v3 Series 12" 4-ohm subwoofer at Crutchfield.com

-One JL Audio 12W3v3

JL Audio 12W3v3-4 W3v3 Series 12" 4-ohm subwoofer at Crutchfield.com

-One MTX 55 Series 12 inch

http://www.crutchfield.com/p_13612W3V34/JL-Audio-12W3v3-4.html?tp=111

-One Alpine-SWR 1223D 12 inch (Used)

I think I would prefer a single sub over two just for more room inside of my trunk, as long as the bass is just as well, if not better quality and loudness wise as my current set-up (I am obviously trying to go for better though)

Does anyone have their own opinions on any of the subs I have seen so far,or any different ones that you would recommend?

EDIT:

I forgot to mention, I bought everything used, since my old set up got stolen out of my old car. This current set-up ran me $175 for everything.

I've had those subs in the 10" version and an older model, but on plenty more power and to be honest, they're below average as far as output. To improve bass response with the current amp (claims to do 500w rms into 2ohms, but probably does less):

1. Look into soundqubed HDS212 (I'd really look into a 15" if you can fit it). It's outstanding value.

2. Custom built ported box will give you far better output.

3. Sounds simple, but folding your rear seats down add a noticeable amount of output as well.

If I were you, I'd scrap the amp as well...sell the whole setup on craiglist or something. If you're not happy now, you don't want to build it right and be happy. If you start building around a sub-par amp, you're risking being unhappy with the system again.

Being unhappy with the next upgrade does make sense, however being in College and living on campus, I will rarely be seeing my car, and my current set up is alright, but I wish it is better.

1) I shall look into the HDS212 and maybe the 15 inch version.

2) The custom built box for a 15, will it be about the same size as the the double 12s, or would it be smaller? If I were to get a 15, I would remove the current 6x9s and probably face it up ward towards the bottom of the rear deck. The 6x9s in the 1st gen TSX are purely woofers, and I have them disconnected for the current set up via SPL for the Kenwood amp.

2.2) Or were you suggesting a custom box for my current set up?

3)I think that maybe removing the currently disconnected 6x9s in the rear deck might help a little bit, but have not removed them because the MDF box stinks, and do not wish to let it vent into the cabin. Here is a link to my problem: (Sorry if we aren't supposed to link other forums, but I think this would save time.)

What do you think about the E-15D4 Sundown Audio

you arent gonna achieve either of your goals if you keep wasting money on prefabs.
True, I am most likely going to be building a box. I personally feel like I would feel more accomplished.

I forgot to mention, I bought everything used, since my old set up got stolen out of my old car. This current set-up ran me $175 for everything.

Just letting you know that current box for your 15s is probably only big enough for a pair of 12s or a single 15. Port area is absolutely horrible, tuning is too high, usable airspace is utter crap. any sub in a properly designed enclosure will sound 10x better than a prefab. Cheap smell is another indication of a cheap chinese pre - made box.

Meant build a new custom ported box for the new sub. You don't want the box firing up. Either firing toward the rear of the car or toward you. You can build your own box for under $70, the sub is like $110 and you can look at classifies for a new amp if you need to.

Alright. Oh and the speakers are 12s. Idk why the serial number has a 15 at the beginning, but it does

What about a wedge box with it facing towards the trunk. A 15 won't fit vertically perpendicular in my car, leaving me with accessible space.

What do you think about this sub?

Okay, thanks! So, the HDS212 single in a box would be better than my current set up (in the right box?)
In a correctly built box. Keep in mind, you're working with very little power, so it'll never be super loud. If I were you, I'd see what you can get for your current setup on craigslist, get HDS312 and find a solid 1.5kW amp in the classifieds.

I'd go with an hds 312 if you going with a single sub setup.
There was a guy in your same situation and we persuaded him to build his own box(he had zero experience) Here's the outcome vid.

HOLY CRAP! That HDS312 hits HARD. Lol, might be too hard, maybe I should go with just the HDS212 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gifI think that having just a custom box with it might be enough for me. I like my mirriors, and here I was thinking about getting a 15 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

Here is a HDS212, but the amp is a Sound Stream LS1110 (5 Channel) Can't find it though

If that thing moved it like that, yours should be able to do just about the same.
