No but really, you know that she'll either mess up your truck or have someone do it for her.....oh yeah, didn't you say that you are too broke to GIVE IT BACK. I'd think that you'd be too broke to NOT GIVE IT BACK, taking into account the damage that the hog will reign down on your personal possessions. It'll cost more to repair what she'll possibly do, in deductibles or flat out cash, than what she's asking for. Stop eating McDonald's two times a week and in a month you'll have the jack needed for the replacement CD Player. lol

If the hosebeast is truly that unstable, Vere, then even returning the audio gear is no guarantee that she will refrain from attempting to damage (or have damaged) his ride.

The actual wording of the law: Protection of Persons/Use of Force; authorizes person to use force, including deadly force, against intruder or attacker in dwelling, residence, or vehicle under specified circumstances; provides that person is justified in using deadly force under certain circumstances; provides immunity from criminal prosecution or civil action for using deadly force; defines term "criminal prosecution", etc

The Florida "Castle Doctrine" law basically does three things:

One: It establishes, in law, the presumption that a criminal who forcibly enters or intrudes into your home or occupied vehicle is there to cause death or great bodily harm, therefore a person may use any manner of force, including deadly force, against that person.

Two: It removes the "duty to retreat" if you are attacked in any place you have a right to be. You no longer have to turn your back on a criminal and try to run when attacked. Instead, you may stand your ground and fight back, meeting force with force, including deadly force, if you reasonably believe it is necessary to prevent death or great bodily harm to yourself or others. [This is an American right repeatedly recognized in Supreme Court gun cases.]

Three: It provides that persons using force authorized by law shall not be prosecuted for using such force.

It also prohibits criminals and their families from suing victims for injuring or killing the criminals who have attacked them.

In short, it gives rights back to law-abiding people and forces judges and prosecutors who are prone to coddling criminals to instead focus on protecting victims.

Louisiana has similar legislation working its way through the state Senate currently (it already passed the House resoundingly as I understand it).

And I agree wholeheartedly. Some fool breaks in my house and catches a 230gr Hydra-Shok for his trouble and I get sued for killing or injuring someone who potentially put myself and/or my loved ones in danger? Pure lunacy, I tell you...

I heard something from somone a while back bout a guy that broke into someones house. He stole a tv, and when he was running across the yard with it, he tripped over the sprinkler head and broke his leg. He sued the people he stole from and won. Thats messed up.

I doubt anything like that would happen in my case.

Well you know what happens...If its a white guy robbing a white guy its a done deal and the criminal's in jail but god forbid the criminal be a black guy. Then its a race crime. I'm not saying this to be racist in any way but it happens SOOOO much here. Case and point: A young 16 year old black kid tried to run down a white cop in a car. Who's to say that the bf doesn't have a CCW permit himself and is far more inclined to use it? Who's to say he hasn't before? Nice to see you paint a rosy ol picture for this dude with the best case scenario, now consider what can happen if all does not go according to plan and dude your giving advice to is laid out in a box. 9 pages of crap over a car stereo....is a fricken stereo more important to you than your sanity and safety? What if dude shows up and pops off 10 rounds into the house and takes out your mom? Take the isht out, box it and leave it somewhere for her to pickup, give her all her shat back at the same time and move the FAK on. Something similar happened to one of our local cops. This 17 yr old African American male had robbed a residence. One of the things he stole from said residence was a loaded 12ga. A neighbor saw lights moving around in this house late at night and called the cops who showed up just as this kid was exiting the house. He dropped everything he had lifted from the house but the streetsweeper and let off two rounds in the general direction of the police cruiser (all of which was recorded by the cop's dashcam, thankfully)

The cop, naturally, responded by firing back at this idiot....letting off a total of 4 rounds, one of which resulted in a fatal injury. For the next several months this poor guy got the dubious honor of getting to worry about losing his job and ending up in jail himself as the kid's family obviously "knew" some people because the NAACP got involved, the ACLU, etc etc and it just became a freggin circus.

All the while the cop kept saying over and over and over that race played absolutely zero part in the decisions that resulted in the actions that he took ~ he got shot at. He shot back. The cop was a better shot. /story.

Tell you what.....I sure as hell wouldnt give her the stuff back. Thats just as bad if not worse then beating the dudes *** senseless. Once you give her back the HU, she will see you as "weak" and try to take everything that you own.

Husband comes back to collect more goods or "gifts". Back to square one.

My suggestion, avoid any kind of confrontation(sp?). Try to move or something. I doubt they are smart enough to find you.
