Thats right bishes...
So i sold a guy a radio that i had, and it had been tested of course to work. And evidently he hooked it up wrong and now the radio is fried. Below you will see the pms, im not mentioning names yet. But im not sure what to do, please dont respond unless you read everything.

here is the orginal ad, and i sold this for 35 shipped BTW.

Pioneer Premier DEH-36 Tested and works fine, all buttons function and it loads, plays and ejects CDs. Comes with harness only, it also has a dash kit for a car but not sure what model, if its yours and you want it ill send it with the deck. It looks like an older model chevy dash kit to me personally.

And below are the pms...

hey man' date=' I got it today at about 2:15 today. It was in satisfactory condition. I didnt know the dash kit was going to be so big, but the sleeve was fine, its in my truck now and so is the radio, but I do have a slight problem. I hooked it up to two speakers and ran the positive and negetive wires and it was fine(and loud thank goodness), but then I had to put the sleeve in so I disconnected everything and when I wired what I had allready wired back together it wouldnt work. I would appreciate it if u could let me know for sure what the ground, switch turn on + and all the other wires r. I can get this thing to work for anything since I unhooked it. also, I forgot to get my cd out, but I dont think that should be the problem, I think its all in the wiring. hit me back as soon as possible, I've got to leave friday and I want to have this thing hooked up and working before I leave.[/quote']
i cant remember exactly how those wires are, but most radios there is a solid black wire that is your ground, a red which is your constant, and a yellow which is turn on, now sometimes the red and yellow can be opposite.

What i would suggest is taking the radio and twist the yellow and red wires together, and touch the twisted wires to your positive battery and the black ground to your negative battery and see what happens. HAve you checked the fuses as well? When you disconnected everything you may have accidently blew a fuse. Let me know what happens.
u know, I had just thought of that a second ago and checked my fuses and they were fine. I think I got the wiring wrong, but I'm gonna go out now and see if what u said to try will work, cause I have way more wires than that block does, so I may have the wrong wires, I know I have got the positive and negative, but I'm not sure which is my turn on. another thing that concerns me is that when I hooked my remote wire up to the positive, the green LED light didnt come on. I dont know, maybe I did blow a fuse, if I did then I can replace it easily.
Ya man, just play with it some more and see what happens. i mean, it worked when you first hooked it up so there must be something you didnt connect or over looked. Let me know what you find out
well, I think I did blow the fuse, but now I think I fried the radio when I tried what u said. I dont know what the black wire was for that was over the red wire, but I put that and the red wire on the positive and the negative wire on the negative and when I did the negative terminal on the battery sparked off and the I saw just a tiny bit of smoke coming from the radio and it smelled kinda weird, weird thing is that my amps have done the same thing before and they still work fine, so I dont know if I blew it or not but the stock HU wouldnt work when I hooked it back in.

alright man' date=' check all the fuses, and make sure that you take the wire all the way from the harness. It might have wires left on it from when tested, i didnt check. You have to make sure that the solid black wire goes to your negative on the batt, and the solid red and solid yellow are twisted and go to your positive. Hopefully either the fuse popped or you got lucky.[/quote']
I'm gonna check everything from the fuse box to the wiring and anything else that has to do with this stuff. u know it man, if it didnt kill it then I just barely missed killing 35 dollars because of my stupidity. I might need more help but thanks for all the help that u have allready gave me. oh, by the way, I thought the yellow wire was the ground, I now have to go and put all the wires the way u just said. for what it matters I think I messed up when I tested my stock radio because I didnt connect all the wires correctly, so I may just have to connect all the right wires up and do it right and I might be booming a whole lot sooner than I thought. by the way, did u ever use any of the RCA preouts?

aight man, I know now for a fact that I killed the radio. I do now have a few problems, now if u can help me out and do what I ask then I can bump ur rep up online, but otherwise I'm not gonna give any report, but I'm not gonna say that u didnt even send the HU, u just didnt send the receipt that I asked for and u didnt send any type of directions, if u had of I probably wouldnt have killed the HU. I would appreciate either a small refund or another radio with some type of directions, that money that I used was really gas money and I really need it now, i could make it without but since I blew the HU because I had no directions whatsoever, I really need some type of reimbursment. I'm not saying that u r a scammer or anything because u did hold up ur end just about all the way, u just didnt seem to take the time to make sure I got a receipt and some type of directions.
Cliffs-

i sold a hu for 35 bucks shipped that WORKED. It arrived working. Then somehow the buyer killed it and is saying its my fault for not includin directions and asking for atleast a partial refund

Oh, and BTW i NEXT day FEDEX this to him which cost 17 bucks. Ya, still have the receipt.

So what would you guys do?

I think it is his fault and no refund should be given. He obviously had the thing working he said, but he failed to hook it up correctly the second time. I would not give him a refund.

if he fried it - thats his problem man.

Thats IMO.

I sold the guy my working Fosgate 400.2 two months ago and he calls me 4 days ago telling me its not working and also added "they are trying somthing else, i'll call u back"

never heard of him again but i wasn't planning on returning his moeny--coz amp was tested--and it was 100% functional.

he got it, it works. he hooks it up, and it works. un hooks it, rehooks it, no works. HIS fault, not yours.

He gets no compensation for that. I mean do you really need instructions to put in a HU?

imo you have been a help to him already..

he messed it up, it really is not yer prob..

he should have had some one that KNEW what they were doing..

this happened to me when i sold my buddy a sub and amp and fried both

he put the power where the ground goes, and vice versa..

he did ther same thing w/ the sub and wired it all ****ing weird, he wanted his 150 bucks back and i said you messed it up, i said id install it for 50 bucks and you said you knew..

he was my friend, and i said no, so its simple really.. lol

in a nice way, just say "yer SOL"

you sound like a nice guy sooo..

lmfao... tell him to ****k off you help him ALOT with the situation. you could have been an ass and told him to figure it out on his own, but you took the time to help him with stuff and IMO you went beyond.

Ya, he kinda screwed himself IMO when he said it worked. I mean, i KNEW it worked but he would stand a better chance with my word against his, but he admits that he hooked it up wrong a few times. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

Yep.

I'd tell him to go fuck himself.
If you sold him a car that he wrecked, would he want a refund?
Probably. lol.

buyer ****ed up...you are not responsible.
Exactly.

Thank you sir. Pretty much what i was thinking.

And i agree completely with this as well, i mean if he didnt know what he was doing then he should have looked online for a manual, or gone to a shop and had them install it. I just dont understand how im at fault. Although he did ask for a receipt and i completely forgot about that (not something i normally do) but hell i can send him one if he stills wants it.

I mean, no where in the ad does it say that there is a manual.

He loses $35 for messing up. Not really a big deal.. tell him sorry that you can't help him with his problem anymore, looks like you have tried.

why would he need a receipt? AND you went out of your way to overnight it, at your expense? this guy is a tool. you got about $15-20 out of the whole deal, and now he wants that back? yeah, go fck yourself buddy.

FWIW, i bought a HU from 2002XLT, and i didn't get instructions either... but i'm not a fckin tard

well you should have drove to him and hooked it up for him.... instructions....lol

He obviously fried it himself... Who ever this person is should just man up and take the loss. It happens. Politely decline any refund and move along.
I think ill just pm him the link to this thread and tell him sorry. lol.

lol wat a douche

I can't remember the last time I needed wiring instructions to be included with a H/U.

This is why I hate selling to teh newbz, they don't know how to hook stuff up, and want to be refunded when they screw up the equipment.

Personally, I would tell him he needs to look elsewhere for ANY type of refund. You fry it, that's your problem.
