im looking into getting a new pair of subs to replace my old alpine type r's

and im having a little trouble finding a sub that matches my needs.

im looking for a sub that will be fine with a

hifonics bx1000d

4 ohms x 1 channel = 350 rms

2 ohms x 1 channel = 700 rms

1 ohm x 1 channel = 1000 rms

it cant have a mounting depth over 6"

and needs to work well in a sealed box .5 cubes per sub

anyone have any ideas on what subs that would get loud in this setup.

I'd go with 2 Diamond Audio D3 12"s

Good SQ, and fairly shallow (will meet your mounting depth needs anyway)

Just out of curiosity, you have Type Rs, but only want 6" Mounting Depth?? The Type Rs were around 8" last time I checked

i have the older 10" type r's i bought them in 2004 and are still bumping good but i can tell a big loss in SPL, i would like to get a little more spl too if possible, also budget isn't really a problem not really looking for anything 200+ per sub but if i find something i think would be worth it i would more then likely save a little more and spend.

and i am willing to build a different box now to get about .7 per sub give me a few minutes and i will determine how much air space i can get per sub if i build a new box.

also thinking about it now if i wanted to make the box complicated and make an extrusion out underneath the console i made i could get 1 cube per sub if needed.

also you wouldnt even be able to tell the extrusion was there since the console would hide it

oooh and i probably should have mentioned this is in a std cab s10

Well I'll be ****ed, I'm building a system for the same truck right now. If you put them in a wedge box, you can probably get away with under 7". I was looking at 4 Mempphis M-class 12s, 2 Diamond D3 12s, 1 Diamond D6 12, 1 Fi SSD, 1 Fi Q 10, and some others.

i could get more mounting depth if i wanted to shave the foam off the back off my cavy buckets and then take up the slack in the seat cover but i cant slide my seat up any more im already into the dash. and i was thinking 2 RE Se 12" which i would under power or 2 Re 12" that i would power perfect but im not sure if they would be loud enough for me ive never heard any RE subs in person.

i know ive heard some people say port placement can make a big difference so where should i put the port at in a wedge truck box,

1. ported into the cab corners.

2. ported out under my console

3. this one id really dont want to do but i can if need be. ported in between the seats pointing up.

only reason i dont want to do number 3 is because i have another alpine type r in a seperate box on top of my other ones. reverse mounted in between the seats. i would like to keep it but if i cant i can deal without it and sell it, its brand new never had power put through it...
