What would be louder at like 1500 watts in a ported box

The 18". Just going by sheer cone area. I'm going to go with the RE. The solo X's are loud. I just never liked the sound of them. I do like the MX though. Still not up to par with RE's older shlt but a nice sub none the less.

Like i have it in like this bag *** box someone built they just threw together and its like 8 or 9 feet cubed and its sealed. Like i have it at 600 watts but it dont even shake my rear view mirror but my memphis mojo that was in a ported box on 300 watts shook my rear view and side mirros. why is this

why dont you listen to people go ported or go home your looking for spl then you want to go ported and that ia will get down hell both those subs will but go ported. people are actually trying to help you LISTEN it dont happen to often

I can tell u from experience. That sealed enclosure for the RE 18 is for SQ only. That sub will get loud but NOT in a sealed enclosure. Have a ported enclosure designed or built, put 100-1500 watts on it and be happy.

600 watts will be louder than it is now experiment thats always best more power more bass (to an extent anyways)

alright but it will def sound alot better?cause right now it dont shake anything causeof the box is 8 cubes sealed i think thats the reason right ? and how big should i make the box and hz for best spl.

Is the RE 18 dual 2ohm? or dual 4ohm?

Ideal Sealed Maximum Box Volume cubic feet 4.0

Ideal Sealed Minimum Box Volume cubic feet 3.0

Ideal Vented/Ported Maximum Box Volume cubic feet 7.0

Ideal Vented/Ported Minimum Box Volume cubic feet 5.0

so if you in deed have this one 18 in 8 cubes, its gonna sound like shit

$180 for a 5 to 7 cu.ft enclosure is very reasonable.

sub is a mx d1 and the amp is a memphis mc1000d so i have to run it at 2 ohm so 600 watts
