ill b runnin a memphis 16-mc150 and a memphis 16-mc1000d. im gonna run another battery for the 1000d if its necessary. ill also b runnin neons and all that good stuff. so what size u think ill need. and i cant find a HO alt for my car newhere.(01 eclipse) ne1 got ne links to sites where i might find one?

the stock alt in my eclipse is only 90 amps tho and ill b runnin neons and all and i dont want any headlight dimming or nething.

i thought that the battery only mattered when you started up the car and after that point the alternater provided all the power. so if that's true (correct me if i'm wrong) then why would a huge battery make any difference? (unless of course the car was off.)

Because if you have a weak battery that's always at 12.0v (or worse) and has to dump a ton of current at start up it will be a much more of a demand to your alternator (less alt current for your amps) than a new (good) battery that's higher current and closer to 13V.

And headlight dimming at high volume doesn't necessarily indicate a problem with your electrical system, it just indicates powerful audio peaks.
