What should my friend do?

he's a newb and asked me to post this for him.

right now he has a AVIC D1 feeding two amps to some nice focals and 2 12'' MB quart subs, simple basic bottom of the line subs from MB 5 years ago. they take like 300rms each and are in a sealed prefab box. sitting in the trunk of a G35 sedan. he also is underpowering the subs by about 100rms each.

he wants two things:

more bass

less space taken up

i suggested making a custom box/face plate and a single 15'' or 18'' as it's going to be hard to taken up less space and be louder imo. i know an Fi 18'' Q will fit in 4 cubed sealed and his prefab box is 3 cubes. so assuming i make the box to fit his car i should be able to save space even going up 1 foot cubed on the box...

any suggestions? the other thing i thought of was seal off the sides and put one sub on each side but wouldn't that not be the best?

edit: i guess two sealed 12'' ARGHs and a hifonics in a custom box would work too...

The BL has less Xmass by 8mm? but the same power handling? also it says not to put the BL in a sealed box but a ported box would be Huge and my friend doesn't want that...a 5ft ported box in the trunk of a g35 sedan would be pretty **** big...granted it would get loud which would be awesome but...space is his issue mainly, being louder second...

i'm almost thinking 2 type argh 15s in a custom box and a hifonics amp and call it a day...simple easy no dealing with 18s(even tho it sounds cool to say you have an 18) probably take up 'slightly' less space as it will be made to fit his trunk and be a hella alot louder...
