what should i tune my box to?

i am currently building a box for 4 re 8's ported and im wondering what i should tune the box to.

ive heard the lower the tunning the better the SQ

i want good sq because its my daily driver

but the only reason i am redoing my system is to gain SPL

im trying to get the best of both worlds

right now i have determined that the box design i have is around 30 hz

what would you guys recomend?

Correct...assuming driver displacement is already taken into account.

yep box is total 2.28 cubic feet with driver displacement took out its 2 even and then with the 30 hz port displacement will leave the box at 1.8 cft which is just under re's specs for optimal ported box design

Looks good. I only said driver displacement for just in case you used less/more and different sized subs before this one. But I pretty much meant all measurements. But 30hz should be just fine for 8's. Its just a matter of opinion really.

daily driver, go 35 Hz

competetion, go 45 Hz
