What should I get?

I have an '03 Galant GTZ, and I'll post the trunk dimensions tomorrow.

I need bass. I don't know what size I want for sure yet, and I don't know if I want multiple or not.

I want a lot of air to be moved, while retaining any musicality I can(definitely want a lot of SQ. I'm used to listening to a(not mine, btw) Kicker L7 15" in a ~3.5cu ft ported box powered with a Power Acoustik BAMF2000-1d amp, but I hate how it's always distorted.

I've looked online at Fi, but I don't know how any of their subs sound. Other than that though, I don't really have any idea what to go for.

My budget is pretty flexible, depending on quality and quantity of subs, but I don't want to spend over $800.

HDC315-A Aluminum Coil Subwoofer (D1-Only)

(PSI) - Car Audio Classifieds

dave was the original designer at re audio with the owner of fi. He will custom build you a sub for your specific needs

I'm definitely liking the Audioque, the DC XL, and the Fi BL. Which would you choose of these, and why?

The sub(s) I get have got to go lowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww. I love low bass.

What are the differences between the street duty and the heavy duty series from Audioque, other than the obvious difference in wattage?

I'm thinking 1000W RMS in a 12" sub is a lot for what I want. Would it be better for me to get 2 SDC2.5 12s than an HDC315-A? I know they won't be as low as the 15, but I'm afraid the 15 won't perform well at higher frequencies.

there is no quality in Chinese made subs ...buy American subs ....if you want quality subs

The DC level xl would be the best sub for you imho. It gets crazy low and is an amazing sub. You wont have enough room to have an adequate box for 2 12 inch subs ported. And the size of the sub has no effect on the highs. You will cut it off anyway with your mono amp. Id do the dc level xl with that mb quart and be happy

audioque 2.5 has a 2.5 coil compared to a 3 inch coil. the hdc3 is a 50 pound sub hug 240ox motor compared to the sdhc's 140oz motor.

Oh, so the SDC2.5s are made in China? Out of the question I guess. What would you suggest I get, Louisiana?
He like Digital Designs. The owner of Digital Designs is the brother in law of audioque. All his stuff is made here in america, same as FI and DC level. Audioque is basically a knockoff of DD as they are family members.

Digital Designsut your going to pay a prett ypenny for DD

Thanks for answering for him. :p

Do the AQ HD series subs have good sound quality? Do you have experience with them? I'm not sure if I would be able to fit a 15 in my trunk easily. If I were to buy one 12" sub from either Fi, DC Audio, or Audioque, what specific sub would you choose? When choosing, remember that sound quality has to be great, but it's got to be loud and perform well at lower frequencies(for a 12).

not only will it **** on ur friends l7 in loudness, it will sound beautiful. 12 also, If you go 12's id def do 2 dc level 3 12's on that 1500rms, they only need 1.5 cube ported. 3 inch coil and sound amazing. 150 each, id do 2 of them if you go 12's

The Level 3s seem to be my best bet. Three more questions, then I promise I'm done. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Sealed or ported?

And, what should I do about an amp?

Related to the amp question, should I get dual 2, or dual 4 ohm?
