What should I do?

I currently have a pair of Kicker Comp VR 12" Subs in a Kicker Pre-Fab enclosure(ported). I am thinking about selling these and going with like one 12 or one 10....but my price range is limited to $200 even. Should I keep these 2 12s or go to just one?...I have a brand new Memphis PRD1.1000 Amp that I will be pushing my lows with. Hmmmm.....The kickers do sound sweet.....I also heard I can take the kickers out of the pre-fab box and get a custom box made for my car, so that way it will be more space efficient and sound better then they do in the kicker pre-fab. Its a good box, though, so I dont know, I'm skeptical. Anybody that knows any of this from experience....let me know what u think I should do?

Well, if you're satisfied with the Kickers, keep em. I say go ahead and build a box. If the prefab the Kicker prefab?

Comp VRs are pretty capable drivers for their pricepoint, MCA. If your spending limit is set at a firm $200 I would suggest that your best bet at this point would be going with a custom enclosure for the subs you've already got rather than going with another driver altogether and still having no box for it (though, according to your post you've got more than adequate amplification)

Yes, the Kicker prefab is alright. IIRC, it's tuned to 36hz. I'm not sure on the internal volume, but it does look a bit small- you may want to build a larger, lower-tuned box.

yeah, good choice. $200 isn't enough for you to get something that will blow those kickers away. and you can find people on here that will give you a good price on a box shipped.
