what should i buy?

You will need a high output alt, at least one extra battery, 0/1ga wire, and a good batt up front to handle the current draw from that large of an amp.
Your 105A alt and a yellow top will suffer greatly trying to run an amp that big.

Like others have said, If you want good SQ while still getting loud, look into other subs.

so if i bought two new yellow top batteries ones listed before one front and one back and a new alt it could run this setup fine? any ideas where to find a new ho alt for a 06 cobalt ss/sc

The popular option seems to be iraggi alts. I have no experience with them personally so I cant really comment on them, but they seem to be highly praised. Your gonna need a pretty big alt for the setup you want. At least double the output of your current alt.

Running that electrical setup, along with doing the big 3 upgrade for good measure, should do you good for what you want. Be prepared for alot of rattle pushing out all that bass.

i looked at iraggi and cant find any that matches the cobalt ss/sc 06 someone i talked to said i could run the two bats and an isolator with the stock alt would this work?

Yeah, and don't get a capacitor, please...That's the least of your worries...

I'm planning on running 1000rms on a 130A alternator with a yellowtop batt. and the big 3, and EVEN THEN I'm still not sure if y alternator will handle it totally. I think most people would say it'll be fine though.

alright final final setup on this

2 x Kicker Solobaric L7 15" DVC Subs (2-ohms per coil)

2 x Kicker ZX100.1 x1 Amplifiers (1000 @ 2ohms)

2 x Optima Yellow Top D34 batteries

1 x 1/0AWG blue power cable 50ft

1 x new ho alt(still looking for my vehicle)

with all the items listed will this setup me able to run at it's full potential? Also is this exactly what i need to bring to my installer for him to install it? any other wires etc. im forgetting? im going kicker because im getting a deal on it.

printed off the big 3 ill give to my installer because im not exactly sure what it all means he will

Iraggi alts are found on ebay. His name is Trafficjamz on there.. he also has an account on here but I dont know how often he is on. I have an iraggi alt and it seems to work well.

send him a messsage and see what he can do for you, he is more capable of ALT work than what you see listed

1)what is your Sub budget? you get L7's and every kid in your community will buy a set, thats why I dont like em.. Be different. http://www.audioque.com http://www.ficaraudio.com

2) 2 amps will have a BIG draw on your electrical, I had rather run ONE bigger amp

3) a Yellowtop is great up front, but Do a Bigger Kintetik HC2400 or similar in the back, or a Deka Intimidator, im getting one soon!

4) yes 50 ft is enought... Power, Ground (amp) Ground (2nd batt) and Big 3.. make sure u get enough ring terminals

well my budget isnt to much and i get a deal on kickers thats why im going with them

how do this sound for a final setup

2 x Kicker Solobaric L7 15" DVC Subs (2-ohms per coil)

1 x Kicker ZX2500.1 x1 Amplifiers (2500 @ 2ohms)

1 x Optima Yellow Top D34 batteries (front)

1 x Kintetik HC2400 (back)

1 x 1/0AWG blue power cable 50ft

1 x new ho alt

does that sound better? is that all i would need to bring to my installer for the install?

dman this is turning into quite the project i only wanted to spend around a g at first and now im at around 1.8g haha and thats without the custom fiberglass install i wanted to do removing my back seats //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif

input again please

i was posting on another forum and someone said i should do this tell me what you guys think of this

"ebay.

brand new H/O alts, direct fit, probably 1/3-1/2 as much as you'd find somewhere else.

capacitors are pointless.

oh, and whatever kinetic makes, batcap makes it better.

keep a stock battery up front and change the alt.

then stick a batcap 800 and a megacap 150 in the back.

http://batcap.net/MegaCap150.html

with the alt and the batcaps, you shouldn't ever have a voltage drop, period.

oh, and the big 3, do it."

what do you guys think of that? is that better then what listed? would it work keeping the stock battery and running the bat caps w/ megacap with a upgraded alt. also what was he talking abot right here "direct fit, probably 1/3-1/2 as much as you'd find somewhere else."

Doesn't your Cobalt have the batt in the trunk? I know the GF's 2005 does....
How you plan on fitting 2 15's in the trunk?
yes its in the trunk most people dont know that so it is easier to just say the front like it is like in most cars catch my drift and i removing my backseats making a custom fiberglass enclosure not in my trunk. any input on what i asked before with keeping the stock bat and doing batcap/megacap
