looking for advice

now i was looking at kicker l7's and wasnt sure if i wanna go with two 12" or two 15". Now would it be dumb if i did decide to go with two 12 sometime down the road add two more down the road and have four 12's in it? Im looking for it to be loud as hell and not sound horrible want it to be clean too. Now to power these i was gonna go with MTX TA81001 4500W mono AMP or MTX thunder TA92001 92001 mono class. Input please?

I'd go with the L7's anyday over the W6's.. Do you have the electrical to support 4500W?
so the L7s are better? getting mixed opinions on this. Also i just have my car battery //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif what else would i need? a capacitor? a second battery?

you say you want loud and not sound horrible, imo i wouldn't go with the l7. they do get loud, and for the price not many other subs can get as loud as them (msrp prices). but they don't sound that great. the w6 on the other sounds great, one of the best sounding subs out imo and i would take those over the l7 anyday.

and to run all that you will definately need to do some charging system upgrades. ho alt., batteries, doing the big 3.

so i would need a new alt and battery? or another battery?

what if i just went with two l7s or two w6s would i still need a new alt and what do you mean by "ho" alt sorry;x

k i made up my mind i think ahha

Subs: two 12" Kicker L7s

Amp: one MTX THUNDER 92001

will this run fine together? throwing it straight in no capacitors or anything. will it run smooth and hit hard? and run to there full potential?

and if it is all good would it be best to run it at RMS Power (2 ohms) 2000 watts x 1 channel?

Thats a stout Amp and well worth the Money. I hate kicker subs, everybody has them, be different!! get something else like Audioque, DD, RE, Fi.. not mainstream stuff (yes i know its the boner on here, but here is not your town)

and you will need a nice electrical

I have a 200amp Alt, 0/1 wiring, and optima and a 2nd batt and I still have drops in the 11's on long bursts.. I reccomend a ALt and at least 2 strong Batts..

and please for fux sake dont run L7's. Get HDC3's!!! they would shit on L7's with that amp

Audioque, DD, RE, Fi.
ill write down some numbers and see what i can do their a little bit more expensive //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

now i was looking for alternators and i drive a 2006 cobalt ss/sc with a 2.0l engine. Now the closest thing i found for that is on ebay but it only supports 2.2l and 2.4l any idea where to look on this?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/HIGH-OUTPUT-180-AMP-Chevrolet-Cobalt-HHR-ALTERNATOR_W0QQitemZ270193642608QQcmdZViewItem

and when you say 2 batts do you mean the one in my engine compartment and a secondary one?

would one battery be enough (just in the engine compartment & no new alt) if i went with the yellowtop bat

Model D34 Specs:

stock it has

105-amp. alternator

600 CCA battery

Battery amp hours(54Ah)

You will need a high output alt, at least one extra battery, 0/1ga wire, and a good batt up front to handle the current draw from that large of an amp.

Your 105A alt and a yellow top will suffer greatly trying to run an amp that big.

Like others have said, If you want good SQ while still getting loud, look into other subs.
