so I found a guy on ebay that builds boxes for fairly cheap and I thought I would give him a shot. he claims to have been building boxes for 10 years+.

this is going to be my first box. I already know everything as far as cu ft and tuning, just not what materials he should be using and stuff like that.

heres a link to his type-r box hes selling

Alpine type-R dual 12" ported sub box - eBay (item 230514125259 end time Sep-19-10 16:42:24 PDT)

Edit: A little information about my set up

Either going with 2 12" type-r's (swr-1243d, or 2 12" DC LVL 3's both dual 4 ohms wired down to 1ohm)

-Mb quart DSC1500.1D amp. Will be running anywhere from 800-1200 watts.

-Its going into a 2008 altima sedan. My current box is LxWxH (inches) 32.5x17x15.58. I would prefer it be this size its a nice fit for my trunk and I have a little space left over. Width wise it can be bigger though.

-I'm going for a SQL set up.

Here's some info about the subs

While you are correct, I don't think he was asking about that particular box.
Hey I actually was. I have to track down a local dealer that sells DC subs otherwise I'm just going to go with the type-r's since I've used the older ones and loved them.

Box is too small, port is too skinny/small.
Thanks. Whats a good sized port? For type-rs and lvl 3's.

Edit: I'm going to add more information about my set up, I forgot to before.

That box looks meh to me. I dont even see any sealant on the inside joints. Box looks nice but looks just like any other pre fab box. Sure maybe he builds them but I would suggest finding someone on here or what not and having them get you right, these are better sized ports. If you we're in nc i'd help u out, but i dont ship boxes. Here is a few of mine, im no pro by any means and many many guys on here have way more kills than I do, but I think I do a good job.

If somebody credible is willing to build me a box and ship it to either Canada, or to Blaine, Washington (my friend lives there) I may just go with them.

x2. Looks like a little sealant in there, but who knows.

I build boxes too. Never shipped any out tho.

PM me or post here how much you would charge for a basic ported box for 2 12s.

I asked him about sealant inside the box he said he could use liquid nail for free, and if thats not good I'm sure I could pay a little extra to get something better. Whats a good port size?
