Specs for 4th order for a CD Omega 15"?

well if your serious help us out brah... most people wont touch a design without some sort of payment, and we need to know things like how much area you have to work with, give us some max dimensions, and tell us what kind of power you plan on putting to it... where you wanna tune it ie low or fart box style?

i could throw out an idea it mabe horrible for you though

I don't need a design just ideas of ported and sealed volume. It's going to be on 1200 now and 2500-3000 later, tuned low for daily.

I have over 12 cubes to work with

If no one really will help me, I'll pay for a design though

My 3 18's I'm thinking about building a 4th order for are will be in about 2.3 sealed each (7 cubes total) but will be receiving over rated power, and in about 20 cubes ported

I'd suggest 2 cubes sealed and as much as possible ported. Then 20-30" of port area per ported airspace. Tuned anywhere from 40-50. I'm just going off the little info I've received.

I was thinking 1.5 sealed, 4.0 ported. Tuned to 48.

You say the ported area should be as large as possible, well I'm working with a truck blowthrough and have over 20 cubes available, lol. So I need some sort of realistic figure. I also don't want a huge gain, unless the whole response is going to be flat. This is for daily...

Did you mean 20-30 square inches of port per cube? That seems like a lot, I was told to use around half of the cone area of the sub...

well the size of your port is dependant on the size of the enclosure just like a regular ported box if that makes sense to you then why would you base the size of your port for a 4th order off of the sub that is going in it...

4th order and flat response are very hard to achieve, however if this is encouraging below the peak it will act like a sealed box

i would do at least 2 cubes sealed and i would mount the sub with the coils in the ported portion if you werent already planning on that so that if it starts to smell you will know before it stops playing

what frequency range would you like it to cover somewhat flat?

I have built 3 boxes for a CD Omega 12. The first was 1sealed, 4.5 ported, big port, tuned around 50hz. Was a joke.

Second was 1 sealed, 1.3 ported, smaller port, tuned a little lower. Sucked.

Third was a ported box. Sounds decent... Still not great.

I want to play 25-60 somewhat flat. Peak around 30-35.

From what I understand, you are supposed to maintain a ratio of 1:3 for the sealed and ported chambers. This could be a possible reason for those boxes not working well.

You can go larger or smaller on the ratio, it'll just affect how much gain and how narrow(or wide) the passband is. Everything is give and take.
