What kind of car to buy for around 10K to build up to run 11s , possibly 10s

You are mistaken.
No where in that video does it say that car is stock. The only mention of mods, or lack there of, is at the beginning when it says 'tuned by'. That's not very speciic, but its certainly not suggesting the car is stock. And the video is put on by an aftermarket performance parts company advertising exhaust systems, cold air intakes, etc. The dyno portion shows measurements in excess of 400hp, a stock 2010 5.0 mustang only has 315hp. Logic dictates those aftermarket parts for sale were on that car.

According to motor trend, a stock 2010 Mustang GT runs the 1/4 in 13.5 seconds. - 2010 Ford Mustang GT - First Test - Motor Trend

Go over to Corvette C6 - C1 Reviews, Performance, Parts For Sale - CorvetteForum.com and look at the used C6's or C5's for sale. Hell I was offered a supercharged, meth injected 2000 vette for $19k the other day!
But I want a C6 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
welll i would love a vette. like I said its been my dream car since i was a kid. a new ZR1 would be nice.. .. ok back to reality

Ive been told to look at 03 cobras, and either a c5 or c6 vettes.. also 2000)ish) camaros... I just dont want something to old, but i wanna be able to have around 600 hp at the wheels and be able to use it as my daily driver on nice days

Whats the price comparisons? I mean if i wanted 600 hp is it gonna cost a ton more to do it on a vette than say a camaro or mustang?

Nah its all about the same price to mod them...but hell, you can find used C5's all day with prochargers on them doing close to 600 rwhp already for under 25k

I might throw a procharger on my C6 when I buy it next month! Im definately putting nitrous on it.

for what its worth, you can get retardedly fast modded C4's for dirt cheap now.

yea man, Theres just something about the c6 style I love.. the c5s are nice, but look dated ( to me at least ) interior especially.. I gotta go with something I can afford, obviously , but its tough to choose.. I mean For a nice 2000 camaro vs a 2000 vette , im sure ill be paying 8k+ more just for the body.. I AM kind of on a budget, so I hope im not coming off like Im loaded ready to drop 30k on everything.. I only wanted to spend around 12k for the car , then add the mods as I go.. BUT its alot tougher to find something that old thats been well taken care of ( so I can beat it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif ) and that I actually like

the cobras look and sound great , and Ive heard they are pretty cheap as well.. But Id hate to be a vette fan , then just buy a mustang because its cheap and easy to upgrade.. Im not good with being patient, so this is gonna be hell on me. that 2005 black on black sitting on the lot right now is way to tempting, but then again, ill be paying for it for the next 3-4 yrs //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif

Your logic is great if you didn't make one tiny mistake. You're talking about a 2010 mustang, thats a 2011 mustang which is rated at 412 hp. There's another video that says how it was tuned and it ran 10.97 with an aggressive tune.

FD RX-7 with an LS6 swap.
Cause thats cheap right? that seems like a lot of fabrication.

Or buy a 240sx 88-92 ori believe is the years the (s13) rolling shell for like a grand.. and Boom 9g's LS1 swap //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Didn't see the budget in the title. Yeah it's a pretty expensive swap.

EDIT: I guess motor trend agrees with the claims.

While 12.8 is a long way from 11's by adding slicks, I wont quibble... you're right, I was looking at the 2010. 2011 looks sweet.

I tell you one thing though, what you don't see much of at the drag strip is corvettes......mustangs are a dime a dozen. I live down the highway from the best 1/8th mile track in the USA, and im usually the only streetable vette out there.
