1: Paid: $2300

2: 1995 Dodge Avenger

3: 22-25mpg city, never drive highway

Pros: suprisingly nice ride, nice body styling

Cons: would expect better gas mileage out of a pidly 4 cyl, no pwr window locks etc

Unbelievable. I bought a Dakota instead of a Ram partly for fuel mileage, partly due to a 3000 dollar price difference. It never ceases to irk me to hear that I do about the same as, and in some cases worse than, alot of Rams.
04 Dakota Quad Cab 4x4, 4.7 V8.

Alpine CDA 9883

Pionier Premier Sub in custom box run by soundstream Rubicon Lil Wonder

Eclipse SC 8362 front comps

Infinity rear coaxials.

Eclipse EA4200 for door speakers.

Intake, Exhaust, bunch of other weight-adding goodies.

I'm averaging mid to high 14s most of the time, high 12s or 13s in the city, high 15 on the highway. I've seen as low as 12 during really cold winters. The best ever was high 18s on a long highway road trip with cruise set at 56 mph while treating the gas pedal like there was an egg under it. Second best was high 17s with the cruise at 65 coming back home.

Won't be trading it anytime soon despite gas prices because I like pickups and its paid for and well cared for. Conserving is nice but I think people who trade guzzlers for a financed newer car and take on another 3-5 years of higher payments to save 1-200 bucks per month on gas and then go on about how much money they're saving in the long run are financially dumb.

keep in mind my ram is a diesel, with some mods, so it does quite well. just to rub salt into your wounds, i'm running biodiesel now at $1/ gallon. it's my daily driver now...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

05 F350 diesel average about 16 mostly country roads, and get 18+ when I get on the highway

Pros: can carry 6 people comfortable and haul a good 1,000lbs in the bed while towing a 12k trailer, and takes quite a bit to get stuck

Cons: takes 40 acres to turn around, diesel is at $4.90/gal in my area

Past vehicles

93 Plymouth Acclaim, 4 banger, averaged about 18/23

Pros: Small durable car, plenty of leg room and roomy interior

Cons: a samll car, not enough power to get out of its own way, no overdrive, too low and too slow

83 F250 straight 6 15 around town and 12 or 13 on the highway. Yes, it got worse milage on the highway, between the 4.10:1 gears out back, a low reving big displacement 6 cylinder and no overdrive made the thing scream when traveling anything more than 50mph.

Pros: Heavy suspension (carry 1500lbs of concrete and just barely level out) manual ****** //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif classic feel

Cons: Rode like an empty dump truck, plenty of torque but no horsepower, only 2wd
