What budget amp for a single 12?

Coming back to this thread.. I honestly think that it is overkill to buy a dedicated subwoofer amplifier. Infinity Ref subwoofers have something like 12mm xmax and 250-300 watt power handling. Instead of buying a dedicated subwoofer amplifier, but a 4-channel. Bridge two channels for subwoofer and use the other two channels to power your front speakers. This would be a better arrangement. My favorite budget 4-channel amplifier is PPI Power P900.4. The normal price is 200-250 online, but lately one could buy one from sonicelectronix for as low as $170 shipped with various promotion codes available. I use one of these amplifiers to power an Infinity Kappa 120.9w subwoofer (by the way, if you can afford it, get one of these as they're better than Reference subs, online price is around $140)

I'm pretty ok with how the front speakers sound off the deck. They are plenty loud for me and they stay clean as loud as I want to play them.

Cyclops Hifonics VII VIII mono amp will out perform all the amplifiers stated @4,and 2ohms stable with stock vehicle voltage, bar nun.I will make a vedio in about a month from now to show the real true power from an old school amplifier, of true wattage+rms power.Doesnt need 4ga for power supply like all the other amps, and you dont need to beef up your electrical to get rms out of the amplifier as todays need. The more power you give this amp, the more it draws, and pushes.CHEATER Amp,It beat the dog snott out of an old school 12in Stroker @1"oClock!
Problem there is they haven't made them in 20 years. I think OP is looking for something that can be had new.

This is quite a nice amp, good sounding made in USA. If your woofer can show a 4 ohm final load this amp will make legit power. I used to own a few of this series.http://www.amazon.com/AURA-MR-2150-2-CHANNEL-AMPLIFIER/dp/B0011YWMAU

I would go MB Quart, one I used one and its a great amp, 2 I have no idea about the Audiopipe.

I wrote a review on the Autotek M4000.1 (same board as the MB Quart Onyx) check it out its in the amplifier section.

Well, Ive got an Old school Alpine Duo-b 3523 for $50 shipped that will bang that sub pretty hard @4ohms Mono without any issues, and very small foot print, or I also have a Hifonics VIII Vulcan, pretty clean that I will Ship for $120.PM me if Interested,Also have an Orion Hott Setup 300 X-bones..$80 Shipped
