I was just given a surround sound by my buddy, he was just trying to get rid of it so he didnt have to store it. I'm pretty sure the sub is blown. It is a six and 1/2 inch sub. I was going to take it out and replace it. What do i have for options? It is a logitech system, and the sub is supposed to get 100 watts rms, and help would be appreciated.

Make sure its 6.5 because i have the logitech Z-5500 and the outside grill is 12" but the sub is 10"

Same with my bro's Z-680's ... grill is 10" sub is 8"

ultimate-

i do know for sure that it is a 6.5 inch sub because i already have it dissasembled, and thats what it said for specs on the logitech website.

squeak-

what do the A B and C represent under dimensions?

A stands for overall diameter of the speaker, B stands for The mounting diameter or cutout hole, C is mounting depth...

Check on the dayton sheilded woofers. Ive heard good things about these.

you'll have to figure out if you need a 4 or 8 ohm driver.

but if you spend a little more on the tang band you'll end up with a better sounding sub. and if you know how to make a new enclosure (and port it properly) you can get probably do MUCH better //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

well my goal has changed, I salvaged just the amp on the back of the sub box, and pretty much destroyed the box getting to the sub. I have the idea of building a new box, using to tang bang 6.5's, but i dont know what to use for a design.
