Well replace front stage and rear stage CDT

The D106 will do that, but there are options on the RUX that can not be doen through the D106, for instance when i go to Processor, i can then go through all the menus, be frank, i like the dancing display.

and i like *****. to each their own i guess.

Or you can just get the Alpine cable that's made for this.
And spend a ridiculous 80 plus dollars right? But I guess it's ok to charge a customer a hefty load more than what it actually costs to make the cable just because it may be unique and come with a different name or have a different type of end to it. Take for example the Zapco Symbilinks as well. An 18 ft. Symbilink cable will cost you around 60 - 80 IIRC. However, you can get a standard PS/2 (keyborad or mouse) male to male cable that is 25 ft long for about $6. I guess it's fair to do that right?

Heck no it's not fair. You're preaching to the choir. It sucks that Alpine pulled that move. The W200 and W205 use a standard optical cable, and then they go and change it up on the 505. I think I paid around $50 for the Alpine cable from the local shop, though.

Looking closer at that link, I believe that Panasonic version is the exact same cable anyway. I was thrown off originally when he posted that it was an adapter (which suggests that you'd still need an optical cable in addition). There's really no adapter, as the odd connector is part of the cable itself.

All of this is a moot point considering the guys has a head unit he likes and the separate controller already in his dash.

do you have a link for this said cable?
Link? No. I have the part number for you though.

KWE-610A

Judging by the picture of that Panasonic cable, they are identical.

Holy crap! Crutchfield and Sonic Electronix have it for $129. That's crazy.

I'd have to dig out my receipt to see exactly what I paid for it, but it definitely wasn't $129, or even $100. I waited forever for it instead of just buying the Panny cable. Now I know better.
