Well replace front stage and rear stage CDT

I said i like rear fill, Duh just my liking. I am running 5.1 for my video, i guess that would be a little difficult without rear fill huh (Oh do you front stage guys know what Dolby 5.1 with rear fill sounds like? or rear mix?) I guess you guys at home only run front stage and no center? My rear fill is set so low, it is basically that just a rear fill for the rear passengers.

To be constructive which the other comments are not, the ES-07 sound more refined the the ES-06 and more extended. There does not seem to be any holes anywhere, it can handle more midbass as well.

You are starting to sound like Jon Lovitz on Saturday night live.

First it was one 300/2, then it became two. Next you go from needing rear fill for music to needing it for 5.1 Dolby. All I got to say is WOW....

Also, video while in motion is HIGHLY illegal here. The cops will nail you to the cross if they catch you running video and it is visible to the driver!

here in NJ cops dont mess with you too much for tv's on..even if its the HU..they have better things to do (murders scenes and other things)...rear fill is good or bad for different people..it all the depends on the person's preference..

It's a psychological thing I guess. Some people just don't feel like it's a system unless everything is upgraded big time and everything is amplified. As always, sound is subjective. Ive always had rear fill and still do. Before I used to actually care about what was back there and I wasted amplifier power on it. Now run 80 dollar Infinity Ref. Coaxes back there. They get head unit power and the fader is 5 to the front. If I bring them any further into the mix than that my soundstage wavers. I only need enough to get that fake 'reverb' effect to give me a sense of space, no more.

My general rules for rear fill from here on in are, whatever it is, it shouldn't cost more than 100 bucks, there will be no amplifier power wasted on it that could be better used for the front stage, and if I can tell where its coming from from the driver's seat it still needs to be attenuated.

What I don't get is all the people who buy a 50 watt/channel 4 channel, use the front two channels for comps that can take 120, the rears for rear fill.

Thanks, constructive people. I agree with the rear fill theory, possibly i have never had an audiophile front stage or correct front stage however I have always liked rear fill to an extent, maybe my understanding is off to, never proclaimed to be the all knowing staging guy! Just like my music clear and clean, so for everyone that is having a problem understanding what I am now running:

Alpine D106R

Alpine C701/CUX 5.1 EQ/parametric DSP

Alpine Sirius Tuner

Alpine CHA-635

Alpine PBD-100 (new software awesome) Alpine DOK-1

Alpine KCE-900 Navi Mix add-on

JL 300/2 front stage CDT ES-07 DRT 25/26 upstage US-200 passive X-over

JL 300/2 rear stage CDT ES-06 Memphis M-class silk domes (old front stage) memphis passive x-over

Xtant 100/1 Alpine SBC-center channel

JL 500/1 Boston G5 12" / GTR 12" passive radiator 1 CuFT

sounds like you have a really nice set up.

I have a friend that has surround sound in his jeep, wow.watching & listen to a movie in your car is nice.

I wish i had bought me a dvd player for my car, I think the processor in the dvd player sounds so much better than most cd players on the market

It ain't hard. The best, highest power-handling 2 or 3 way passive or active front components you can get being fed as much power as they can safeley take and you can afford, positioned as best as you can within the constraints of your car. OTOH I have read of people creating 'rear front stages' but this was in a customized crew cab Kentworth with a humongous interior and as much time into positioning and aiming the rear components as there was in the fronts.

As for the TVs in motion thing: All good if it's for the kiddies in back watching movies. However I nearly got into a road rage incident the other night being stuck behind a guy who was too busy watching TV to do things like go when his turn came at the stop sign or drive at more than 15 mph. I could actually see his head turning to glance at the in-dash DVD.

James, I have asked you and sent PM's to you on how to make my H701 work. I have an extra JL 300/4, actually i could get another for cheap.

Soooo, do I use the JL 300/4 for the front mids and the fron tweats and the second JL 300/4 for the rear mids and the rear tweats all active or, jL 300/2 for the front mids and my extra JL 2150 for the fron tweets-active and run the rear stage off the second JL 300/2 non-active?

you really ought to do a lot of reading on what the h701 can and cannot do. I don't plan to spoon feed anybody on how to use that processor.

wow ur a wealth of information and very helpul too bot, thanks. If you do not paln on helping people maybe you should reframe from your comments,

LOL, you're one of those fucks that talk shit after being denied. That just makes me glad I did not helping your ***.
