Weird... Subs keep going off.

I just installed subs for my cousin, they worked, she turned the car off, went to close the trunk and BOOM! the subs went off and kept going off with straight booms.

then we opened the trunk back up and closed the back door and the sub just gave a little boom.

any ideas why its doing this? I have installed a bunch of systems before and never had this problem. I am lost. The AMP will not shut off either. I had to pull the fuse from the AMP.

I have the Remote wire ran from the AMP to the fuse box and in the fuse for the Radio.

AMP ground is bolted in the rear seat bolt.

The Line Out Converter spliced into the rear driver side speaker. and that ground is just pinched in between the trunk metal. I have always done this and never had any problem.

We are using the stock headunit.

2004 Chevy Malibu.

I AM LOST.. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Ok, I will have her bring the car back over here, and I will check the remote wire. Would the AMP being ON even when the car is off make the subs go off when the trunk is slammed shut or the back doors.. I dont understand why it would do that. Never had this problem before.

This is obviously it man.. your signal is messed up and its probably catching stray electricity when you slam your trunk and sending it to the amp. Could be your rem as well but I am pretty positive its your signal.

So how would I stop it from catching the "stray electricity"?

I wouldnt use a LOC to begin with.

Start with process of elimination, plug an ipod or something directly into the amp with a RCA adaptor as your signal, then see if the problem goes away.. if it does, its your signal/source

these are a few bucks at radioshack/walmart

The amp isn't turning off so the bad grounds for the amp and LOC are probably what is causing the "boom". In newer Chevys the radio turn on signal is delivered through the CAN-BUS so the fuse will have constant power and will not work for the remote. You will either need to add a switch or find a LOC that also delivers a remote signal. Seat bolts make terrible grounds, make a new ground for the amp and the LOC.

I got it, it was the remote wire, I used the fuse for the radio for it and that was the problem, I am used to my old Ford Mustangs, and the radio on them shuts off when the car does, on the new Chevy the radio plays after the car is off. So I switched the wire to the Moonroof fuse and it works perfectly fine now, and the AMP only comes on when the car is on. ALL GOOD. Thanks for the help fellas.
