weird problem

hey guys,

I just got my subwoofers installed in my ford explorer, its 1 15 inch sub and it doesnt work right. When the cars on and radios on, they subs dont work to full potential only a tiny bit. But when I turn the car off, they turn on for like 1 or 2 seconds to how they should sound and then they just turn off. What could the problem be? Is it the amp? its a sony xplod 1000 watt amp. And one 15 inch kicker comp vr.

could be that your voltage is real low with the car on because of all other appliances running, and with the car off, only your amps are running. check your voltage, and maybe upgrade your battery and big 3
