Watts.....when will I need to upgrade alternator, battery, etc?

Car has an 88 amp alternator from the factory. Not sure what size battery is on it now.....

Anyway a possable system layout has me at about 120w for front speakers, 120w for rear, and about 600w to the subs. So about 840w total.

Or I could go crazier on the sub(s) and go about 1000w or so //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif So that'd be about 1240w total. I imagine this power for big bass is where things may start to need upgrading.....but the temptation or bone shaking bass is hard to resist //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

but if you just had 840 watts ur stock alt could handle it...

basically just take a 0 off of ur total wattage and thats wat size alt u will need...

a larger alt never hurt anyone....not sure if you'd have dimmage or not w/ that wattage or not.....i'd suggest upgrading the alt....specially if your going to do any kind of upgrades in the future...`
