MTX thunder 942 on 2 type r 1221s?

I have already purchased this amp generally not knowing to much about it. So I have to ask the usual questions, such as will it blow the speakers? Is it a good all-around combo? I pretty much just need to know if I am wasting my time or not with this setup. The amp was purchased for 410$ on sale and I just want some opinions. Any help would definitely be appreciated. I believe the amp is going to run at least 350 to each sub.

Jmac, would you happen to know if those "renewed" subs are warrantied at all? I assume by renew they mean a damaged sub that has been fixed?
