Voltage Problem After Big 3

I just did the Big 3 today and now my voltage will stay at 14 normal but then if I rev up to 2000 rpm's and then just let off it drops to 12. Is my alternator shot? Also KnuKonceptz gave me compression fittings for 0 gauge so I fanned out the 4 and screwed the compression fitting onto that so it's tight. Any ideas?

i dunno about your vehicle, but apparently the new body style frontier have a voltage sensor, that runs off the ground from the battery... if you bypass it then the alternator wont charge for some reason... i doubt your chevy has that but its worth looking into

I have a sh!tty Duramaxx from Walmart but I tested at the Alt wire, not the battery terminal and my system is only 500 watts. I drove around about half an hour with no system to try and charge.

i would suggest you go to autozone or advanced or whatever your choice of auto parts stores are and have them test your alternator and battery... its alot better than me speculating on the problem

it seems that many companies are starting to control the alternator to save gas mileage - it's the buzz word anymore.

until you can understand what your vehicle is doing, you can't solve your problem. the Haynes manual for the car should tell you about the charging system.

It's never done this before, the alt started acting up a little bit before winter and then before the big 3 I would see random voltage drops while driving, now after the big 3 they're more often and noticeable. What is seems to be doing is the alt quits charging for a second after it's revved up to 2000 rpms because the voltage drops to 12 volts so it's running straight battery.

if it charges and stops that sounds like an alt thing to me, happened on my van stopped working and it ran on battery power till it got to low, jumped it and drove it for a week then it did it again.

to me, it sounds like current is being diverted from the fuse box and any associated load detection. thus the vehicle thinks there is only half as much load as it used to see - causing it to go into conservation mode more often.
