voltage issue???

ok.. i have a 10.5 voltage w/ my car crunk.... NOT GOOD

but i have a 12.5 w/ my car turn off...

Why do i have more volt w/ the car turned off???????

i know theirs isnt as much stuff on w/ the car off.. but neither is the alt... is that my alt id bad, or going bad???

go get your alt. checked at auto zone or some place like that more then likely its bad.........

maybe u have too much of a load in ur electrical sys as the V goes down w the car on.

If not, maybe ur batt/alt might be dying or something.

just check how much ur alt puts out, and estimate how much current ur amps n anything electrical needs to run.

check the alternator like was already said...then if need be have it beefed up at an alternator & starter shop your system will run like a champ with more amps...if you get the corny line

ok. no i have replaced my stock 60 amp alt w/ a 150 amp alt.. i havbe the factory battery up front and a optima yellow in the back..

i went yesterday to have my alt checked.. it tested fine.. putout 160 amps... they also checked my factory battery.. and they said it was fine as well...

today i checked my optima battery... and the ground wire was very hot...which isnt right... so, when i got home.. i re did the ground wire.. ok...w/ the ground off the optima.. my stock battery tested in at 11 w/ it off... the optima tested in at 12.4 w/ no ground wire... w/ engine turned off....ok, w/ the optima ground off, i tried to start my engine... it wouldnt start.... i hook up the new ground.. it does start... but still have low voltage....

what is it???

i suggest u upgrade your power wires....could be the culprit.....the 3 main wires should be upgraded

do that and see if that helps

ive already upgraded the alt to battery.. 8 g to 4 g... the alt ground.. is hooked in a plug... which consists of 2 other wires.. so, how do u i upgrade it???
