voltage good, still clipping?

they are in phase and ill make a video later, and in that video I posted on yt of them they were on my brutus 1600 being underpowered big time, and now that I have the 4500 it sounds like they are weak and not much louder than my 15s. maybe I should give them 8 cubes each @ 28hz, 15 sq in of port percube

Give use exact box measurement you have now. WxHxD and the port WxHxD also lets see what your working with... Sounds like you have to much port of it gets down a 1600watts but when u put more power it doesn't get louder and just kinda unloads

my exact dimensions are 35D 21H 48W and the port is 6H 32W and 28D its 17.5 before all displacements, after the port is in it drops to about 13.5, with the subs in maybe 12 net

i was thinking 16 cubes net @ 28hz, 15 sq in of port
16 will work, if you want ALOT of lowend thats peaky. after break in the FS is probably about 30 and QES falls probably to about .48 anywhere from 14-16 would work fine. you could even go 18 but your going to reach xmax MUCH faster.

no need to tune to 28 unless your going to listen to screwed up stuff. BTW i accidentally said 14 meant to say 15.. 7.5 per sub 15 total with 200in^2.. it will still sound good up top and get nasty down low..

also this is about the first time i have them on this power, if there really is such thing as a break in period should i wait it out a little more and see if they loosen up/play lower? also AA recommends 28hz on their site, and i like the fact that they did that because i love lows.

Shrink the port width down to 28"... That will give you 168" of port tuned to 28hz with 12"port per cube.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/yumyum.gif.0556df42231b304b9c995aefd13928a8.gif

my speaker wires are fried to a crisp!! I need some bigger wire. as for them not sounding louder than the kickers they are starting to sound way louder now. fixed the box, it was falling apart. massive air leak on the side of it, thru a bunch of screws and its holding up for now. still going to re build another box

I have a song that plays 21 to 23 hz and whenever I play just that one song my amp goes into protect, speaker wire problem maybe? on all other song it dosnt do that.
no telling whats happening to the impedance curve with the leaks, and yea they might be shorting out money..

we had a huge argument on speaker wire just a few weeks ago, but i'm an idiot so regard larger speaker wire with only 3500 watts. 14ga is plenty.. no seriously a run of 10 GA per woofer..

they woofers naturally like slighly larger boxes as opposed to say the SD Z series because of the lower mass and higher QE. 15 should be good, like i said your gong to start to push them to there limits the larger you go.. you have plenty of power on tap..

That's weird. Maybe speaker wire because I'm using 10 awg for my 12s and I've played 20hz and my 4500 hasn't gone into protect mode. The speaker wire is the only difference so it might be the issue? 16 awg is pretty small.
