Ups Can F*ckin **** My C*ck!!!!!

The safest shipper i know of besides my company //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif is fed ex. they handle stuff the best out of the big companies. Ups is trash. dont mark your box fragile whatever you do. it gives them a reason to play football with your package. I have seen it with my own eyes. Dhl from my experiance is good as well. They are most likely like my company and use other shippers to deliver packages out of their area. We use ups for most shipments outside ontario. However we inspect each parcel, and if we deem it to not be packaged properly, we wont ship it out because we know what ups is like.
Everyone could probably cite an isolated incident. But, from what Ive seen, UPS tends to hire the best drivers/employees... they pay very well. Generally speaking I find UPS and Fedex as the best two, and being about the same in performance (time and reliability), with UPS edging it out with slightly better/faster/friendlier and more knowledgeable drivers. Dont try calling UPS on the phone tho. lol

I just use great stuff (expanding foam) when I ship anything thats over 30 lbs.
Yup, it's cheap, and u can pretty much fill up an entire box in foam from just 1 12oz. can. Very very very good foam too.

I've never had a problem with UPS before, I've had subs shipped to me as well as other heavy items. Maybe I just been lucky (knock on wood. lol)

yea its really crappy, like its not their fault if they drop it 6ft off the ground or something
Not even that, a 50lb subwoofer dropped 1 feet away from the ground with barely an inch of pading can easily break.

Or if dropped sideways and there was no padding on the side the basket can easily snap in half (which looks to be like what happened)

I think he's implying he dislikes the UPS rule that they feel a 6ft drop is okay. Which, if true, I agree is ridiculous.

I agree its ridiculous as well. But like everything else it's better to play it safe then be sorry later. Whoever ships a package should keep that in side, chances are its not gonna be dropped from 6ft, but there's always a slight chance of a freak accident.

Since so many people ship packages they pack themselves UPS probably has to put a rule like that, or every single person who gets something damaged will blame UPS and not the packaging (they'd probably loose millions). Wouldn't suprise me if Fedex, DHL, or w/e other shipping company has the same policy.

thats why i have at least 4 inches of foam on each side and then a few inches of packing peanuts on top of that

expanding foam isnt dense enough to package large items in my experince

I believe all shipping companys are bad depending on places. I've heard Fedex horrors but not as much. But I think people use UPS more often then Fedex I believe. But UPS around me are always handy with my package. Maybe cause my UPS driver knows me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I belive more then 90% of the time it's not the driver, but the people in between the driver and the shipper. I've known a few UPS drivers from work and deliveries to my house, all are very profeissional and careful

I doubt Ive ever received any sort of heavy subwoofer, packaged by the manufacturer, that would withstand a 6 foot fall. If they want to make a cover their butt's rule, it should at least make sense.

Yeah the actual delivery drivers dont do most of the damage, they represent a small portion of the actual handling the shipping company does. Seems most damage occurs in the warehouses, by forklifts etc.
